Gents, Can anyone highlight where the top hose from the phase one header tank should go to?

I am returning my car back to original phase one spec and cant find/recall the set-up.

Thanks

I can only find a diagram of the Phase 1 cup run, from here: http://r5gtturbo.ckiweb.org/cup.htm

It might help though.

Edit: Do you have a water-cooled turbo coolant circuit?

If not, it's like my old car, so the header tank top hose goes all the way over to the bottom of the water pump.
If it does, it's short hose and goes straight to the turbo, the connection nearest.

Thanks, That's the hose i am after then, just above #3.
In the past its been converted to phase 2 with the hose cut for the turbo..

Hi Lee, do you mean converted to Phase2? If so, none of the above applies.

If you mean converted to the later style Phase 1 (water-cooled turbo), then that would mean your top header tank hose should go to the turbo coolant connection.

Just to be clear on the distinct (i.e. very different), OE set-ups:

- Phase 1 early, air cooled turbo (no coolant run to it)
- Phase 1 later, water-cooled turbo
- Phase 2 (water-cooled turbo)

Additionally:

- Phase 1 cup (as per the first diagram, which is not the same as any of the road-going set-ups listed above)
- Phase 2 cup (ditto)

It's difficult to understand what your car started out with or what it was changed to in order to tell you where that top hose needs to go
