Can anyone tell me what they have used for side skirt trim, as I understand it the original Renault trim is no longer available.

I tried some of this before but found it a bit rubbish - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wedge-Gasket-Rubber-Door-And-Window-Seal-Gasket-Black-R3233G-uPVC-Gasket-/321463910605?var=&hash=item4ad8be00cd

Any suggestions ? Cheers

I know people have used lengths of normal house window gasket as that appears to fit and do the same job. Not sure on the exact one you need so be worth taking a look at a window supplier/manufacturer. ;)

Try this eBay item number: 331113212395

I am yet to try it out personally but I'm led to believe that it fits with maybe some minor trimmage :D

EDIT: Sorry just skim read the post not realising that you posted a link. Are these products are the same?

Weird! I copied and pasted the number into the search box. Anyway, thanks for full link, looks good. :agree:

Edit: just tried the same copy/paste out of curiosity and still returns no listings! I even tried copying the number from the auction itself. V odd.

Yeah I have these ones already.

To me they do not seem deep enough in the grooves to fit comfortably on/in between skirts. They also lose their shape really easily.

I'd be interested to see any close up shots of any members cars as an example. That would be a big help, it would also be useful to see what they have used to hold them on as they certainly don't fit without any form of sealant/glue.

Has anyone got any pics of the trim itself, incl end-profile and some dimensions? It might spark some ideas of some non-automotive alternatives :agree:

Great pics, thanks FSP :agree:

Is that a self-adhesive strip with on one side? What does that stick to the sill or the inside of the skirting?

I can't think of anything from other industries that is quite like this :( That upvc wedge gasket looks quite close but would need altering with a craft knife which could be very awkward.

Yes, there is self-adhesive strip and like in bumper strips, it has steel stripe. Ill put more pictures.

I think we could find alternative for this stripes. I can mesure and photo the stripes if needed...

Cool.

If you do take more pics, maybe take a couple with a ruler showing so we can see the various dimensions? :)

I'll see if I can make these window seals fit. It would be useful if we could find someone who has already used them to understand how they have trimmed and sealed them to the kit.
