Hello Folks,

What Is It?

The California Scents car frangrance range, specifically for this review: the
Tahoe Powder aka Fresh Linen.

What Does It Bring To The Table?

A comprehsive range of air fresheners in a small tin, often with an adjustable lid.
It claims to last at least 60 days.

Where Am I Using It?

My neighbour's 2009 Renault Megane Coupé

What Do I Think Of It?

A lovely way of returning a car that you have detailed back to its owner is to
secrete one of these tins under the driver's seat, without saying a word! It
has become a little trade-mark of mine and it usually has an anecdote that
follows.

When I first detailed this car, back in August 2014, I left a tin of the Tahoe
Powder freshener simply to replace a horrid dangly thing hanging from the
rear-view mirror. When I next saw the car's owner, I was quizzed about where
the new air-freshener was. Her grand-children had noticed how nice it smells
in the car, but then she set them the task of finding it. To no avail :)

So, why am I writing about it in January? Well, you saw the 60 days mentioned
above, I have today replaced said air-freshener with another, this time with
"Hawaiian Gardens". That's a full 5 months since the Tahoe Powder was first
installed! Oh, and it hasn't yet totally given up! It now resides in the cupboard
where I hide my dry-waste bins - recycling on one side of the unit and general
in the other.

When buying these, be sure to check whether or not they come with lids.
Some sellers charge up to a quid extra for the lid, so I never throw them away.

Pros

An impressive range of fragrances
Much longer lasting than claimed

Cons

Lids can be a rarity and expensive.

Conclusions

The car freshener range from California Scents has been around for ages. One
reason that I've posted this review is that this _may_ be coming to an end. :sad2:
As ever, the pace of change gets relentless and it looks like they are to be
superceded by a new range called "Cool Scents".

It may be time to stock up if, like me, you're impressed with the current range.
They are hermetically sealed canisters so they'll not lose their stength.

I have used these fresheners for years! With Tia being my dog, Tia's Taxi has a
permanent dog bed on the back seat. The first thing that people say to me when
they get into her car is: It smells nice in here!

Where Do I Buy?

The California Scents range is widely available on the Web, with prices starting
at about £2 per tin, though usually at that price they come without lids.

Steve
