What Am I Using It On?

A black 2009 Renault Mégane Coupé

What Do I Think Of It?

To be perfectly honest, this product left me a bit underwhelmed. So much so,
that I believe that it has been formulated mostly for use by machine, though
there is no indication that it's not really suitable for use by hand. I could
be wrong!

I applied the Cherry Glaze with a firm waffle base polishing pad that had been
primed with ONR in a small bucket of warm water. I feel this is necessary for
this type of pad because of its firmness. However, I couldn't tell whether the
product contains any abrasives or indeed any chemical cleaners, because
bewilderingly, the pad stayed perfectly clean!

The pad after polishing half the Megane's bonnet...

That was certainly quite unexpected. I was working on the bonnet of the
Megane that had a few blemishes in the surface of its existing coating. It
had been given an FK 1000p application back in early August, with just two
ONR washes in the interim. The car is not garaged and is rarely parked in
the shade. I certainly expected to see evidence of dirt removal in the pad.

Once buffed off, the paint felt reasonably smooth, with an acceptable shine
though there was very little slickness. This was probably because I had not
sufficiently worked the product. For it to "restore" paintwork as claimed I feel
would be very hard work indeed!

The paint finish, after buffing off...

Though no claims of swirl filling are made, none is apparent either...

Anyone familiar with my posts will know that I tend to _allow_ the product to
do its bit. It seems that the Cherry Glaze requires a fair bit more energy than
I possess, making it hard work. In my experience there are far more effective
products elsewhere that don't require quite so much effort.

Conclusions

Getting the paint clean needed a fair bit more elbow grease than other AIO
products I have used, especially considering there was no dirt removal
apparent on the pad afterward. :crap:

I've deliberately omitted adding pros and cons for this product in anticipation
of someone else testing the product via a machine. That, at least, gives it a
fair crack of the whip. Hopefully, they will have a bit more success and be able
to provide some longevity guidance too.

For me personally, allowing for my gammy hands, I was disappointed and went back
to my usual paint cleaning routine.
