Ive searched the internet and all the forums and all the links to manuals i can find have expired or been removed, im currently in the proces of stripping an F4R and if anyone knows any links or books that would help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, as Tom says James, that RTOC link goes to 'page not found'.

Edit - it works if you navigate to the file itself....

I have to agree, I'd much rather all pics and documents were within RTOC. We're in a bit of a bind on that score though Matt as Mick will tell you, the server space just gets eaten up. :(

In this particular case I thought the F4R manual might have been on RTOC, that Tom had discovered it but found it was one of the various broken article links to the old site. So I searched for it elsewhere. In the end it turns out the data was here and Tom hadn't found it but James's link was broken for different reasons! Lol.

I know Mick was looking into possibly having a proper article / magazine section (That I asked for the waste gate magazines) wonder if he could incorporate these guides into it permanently. I know the space can be taken up on the server but these sort of thing's are good for the club.

we only have a 60gb server, once the new site is up and running we will have more server space, im looking into that james on new vb and we will see what happens

Mick you are the Man :agree:

Something a little like this on the MLR but better :D, you literally click on it and it will open a PDF file, or be cool if it would open within the browser and go to each page as if you were turning the pages of a book (might be asking to much for that effect).

Agree totally. These types of things are really important to get and keep copies of within RTOC :agree:

I certainly hope we get more than 60Gb on the new site/server. My phone has more space on it than that! :wasntme:

we are using the same server trev so no but as i wont have loads of duplicates running we will have more server space I estimate at least 25gb this will last for ages hopefully

Bit of a bump, the reason for my initial question is because (and this makes me sound like a terrible mechanic) the cam cover is not wanting to come off at all, off the dowels all bolts out and it refuses to come any further. Everyone I've asked has said it just taps off and that's what's got me this far in life but now I'm stumped, if anyone's got any advice whatsoever if would be greatly appreciated.

Is it bonded on? Does it just need to be prised off?

Is the engine out of the car? Got any pics?

The engine is on a stand sorry, i mnaged to get it off last night but by taking the timing belt off and bringing the cams and timing gear up with it. Once it was off i then had to take the pulleys off to get the cams out of the cover. So essentially the pulleys hold the cam cover on. Seems like a really weird idea that ive never seen before.

On another point ive found i need new camshafts so if anyones got a decent set with minimal scoring it would be ver helpful :D

All the manuals I looked at just stated to tap it with a copper hammer which I found odd being aluminium, anyway I'm just going to cry at the price of all the parts I need haha

I sure will, at the time being I'm just going to prepare the engine and get all the individual parts I need together and then hopefully get it all done in summer time when the weather take a nice turn for that one week haha. If anyone's got any advice on things to do whilst the engine is out to aid the conversion then now would be an excellent time thanks
