View Full Version : Front mount intercooler
Hi
I am just after some advice and clarification from people who have front mount inter coolers installed. From what i have read 550x140x65 intercoolers will fit between the fog lights, Has anybody got any pics of the pipe work on these set ups? or i might consider ditching the fogs for something slightly larger, i don't mind chopping the bumper but i don't want to touch the cross member.

look through peoples project threads you generally get more information
Just do a search RTOC has all the information hidden in the bowels of its site.
FMIC is not needed really up to 170-180bhp.
Having had a five for too long i really do not see the point in going beyond that as longterm it will be unreliable.

Thank's, The 550x140x6's looks pretty easy to install actually.

How much bhp would you expect from 18 psi on a T25 .49 exhaust, alloy replacement OE style intercooler 120 main jet, 1.3 2nd stage 0.9 air corrector and a larger bore exhaust system?
That's my current spec now (bar the exhaust system) and i'm pretty happy with at 18psi, a little more power would be nice but i honestly think i could stick with this and just enjoy it, concentrate on getting a nice suspension set up for track use.

I'd say around 170bhp, all depends on spec of the T25 too
I'd say around 170bhp, all depends on spec of the T25 too
The seller listed it as the following
.49 rear and a -31 actuator.
We upgraded the internals to a T25/28 with a high flow billet wheel.
It made 226bhp and 188lb/ft at 18psi on his car but he has a heavily modified head and other mods etc, He's shown me rolling road graphs etc other people have confirmed hes genuine etc hes prob a member on here.
He runs a renault 5 race car and upgraded to a GT25
As i say i'm pretty happy with it in all honestly, If reliability becomes questionable above this then i don't see any need to go for more power on a road card. If i can keep this set up reliable ill be very happy.
