hay up lads does anyone have a picture of a cam pulley pref of the vehicle so the wood ruff key way is visible. ?

Woodruff key on the cam, doesn't the pulley just bolt on?

Appreciate the pics there trev , but it's an original pulley I'm after I've got the vernier pulley on but it has a few marks scribed into it . So I was hoping to get a picture of an orginal pulley so I no which is tdc line using the woodruff key as a guide. .
My fault I had one of my lads at work strip it and it's been a while since I marked it up. Getting a little forgetful with age lol

You don't use the pulley tab to time the cam up

There is a line scribed on the cam pulley and a + symbol on the crank pulley, line those both up and that's the engine timed up correctly

Yes mark, but it's a piper vernia pulley I'm using and has a few scribe marks on it from my previous toying with cam timing I just can t rembler which I used for tdc. I was thinking I could use the tab in an origanol to relate to the angle the tdc mark is . A ball ache and a rather long winded thing I know but you live and learn lol .

And I can find this picture on Mike's site which appears to show a refurbished OE pulley, though I can't see any marks on it :(

I can see the marking on here in relation to the woodruff tab thingy if you look closely in the first pic and then fitted to the car in the second pic:

If using a veriner, fit the standard pulley and line the cam up them swap the pulleys over making sure not to move the cam. This will get it roughly in the right place.

You then will need to time it up with a DTI gauge and timing wheel, the number of degrees you set it to will determined by what cam you have and where you want the power band

I didn't have a std pulley to go off that was my predicament maybe I should of mentioned this at the start . Cheers for the help though mark it's much appreciated .

It's time for a rebuild again and the cam pictures gone awol, anyone have a picture of the cam pulley .

Danny, please take some pictures of this during your rebuild and upload them to the site. Would help a lot :agree: The photobucket debacle is crippling our historical stuff :sad:
