Right, my broadband subscription is due for renewal and I'm currently eyeing up offers with o2 and orange...o2 because I'm a mobile customer and I get quite a saving lol

I don't want to use BT even though they are offering a very good package to continue with them.

Basically who should I go for ?

ive using sky wireless broadband,i think my package is called the "max" one. theres no bandwidth limit and i can fault it. i only went for it as it was the cheapest around and due to the fact thats its unlimited bandwidth.
its not slow at all. :agree:

at the time of wanting it fitted i ran into problem with that you cant have sky through the ntl phone we used to have:scratch: so i switched over to a bt phoneline and all was hunkydoory:agree:

Just remember, unless you go for Virgin its got to go through a BT line, so you wont get 5 million billion mega bitties per nano second...

With Virgin you've gotta swap provider altogether no ?

They supply the cable broadband/phone line combo I thought..

didnt virin take over the ntl network?

Indeed. They're also slowly taking over the world.

I'd like it known that I pledge my allegiance to The Fuhrer Richard Branson.

Or Nestle.

Whoever gets there quickest.

Sukhi, that's gay about cable. Rich and I had it at the house...a whole one turning away from your place lol

I've had Orange before which was a big fat cost of FREE with my phone contract and it was actually pretty good

i am with virgin but on a adsl line, worst internet ive eva had, 5:30 on weekdays ive had internet as slow as 16kbps, customer services costs 20p a min, takes about 30 mins to get thru, then you end up with a forgein **** offering no help what so ever, ive phoned and phoned, and argued and argued, and got no where, i was on a year contract and cudnt leave with out a fee, finishs v soon though, but defo dont go to virgin, worst service in the world!

I had the completely opposite experience of Virgin and as far as I know, they scrapped the chargable customer services number, it's now free. Never had an issue except we lost the TV channels for an hour (we had a bundled package), and the internet was awesomely quick.

I'm on Virgin ADSL and it's as you say - pants. Paying for a BT phone that never gets used, and a Virgin ADSL with slow as you like connection - way worse than the NTL that they took over. I guess I need to wait for cable. I can see the exchange from my house, but the cable goes off in the other direction, so no idea where it goes to.

did ntl cable have this fibre optic stuff that virgin are going on about in there adverts?
i ask because i was previously using ntl cable broadband and seen as virgin have taken over im assuming the system is still all the same:scratch: virgin is available in my area but i havent seen them digging up the roads like ntl did to lay these fibre optic cables:confused: or am i missing something:scratch:
