The multi-marque event for fans of retro vehicles on two and four wheels with pre 1990 RWYB, Show & Shine, car clubs and retro entertainment. New for 2016 incorporating TriumFest!

theres also a RWYB day on the saturday for those that may want to make a full weekend of it and camping on saturday night for a bit of banter and crack

Im officially making this a 100% event now, ill speak to ian later on about organising the event again and getting the tickets in the club shop shortly at greatly discounted prices for the paid members of the club

those that attended this last year will remember what a great weekend this was and everyone had a great time, this year being in july so arthur this will hopefully be better for you:agree::laugh:

I remember 10yrs ago we had alittle contest at Nat Day, took the 10 fastest 5's of the day and done a head-to-head race against each other. Was a good laugh plus it gave the spectators something else to watch too, little heads-up racing! ;)

Saying that back then we was all running c1j's but that wouldn't be too hard to sort the cars evenly

no matt, once we get tickets ordered I believe thats tom, as i said to james we can only ask for a zone, pod will then allocate us part of that zone, what ill try and do this year is get us a pre allocated part, i can't guarantee this though and will find out only 1 month before retro day as this is when they let us know where the stand is, im looking into logo flags that sit under wheels and another gazebo if there only £80 like trev said, im going to try n make Saturday this time too but wont know till nearer the time, hopefully u can make this one matt as you bought ya ticket first last year then pulled out, i know you had issues thought

What might happen is members will expect to buy them in the last week and will be disappointed.

Once they gone in the last minute rush it'll be too near the event to buy and stock more. And we have to pay the full price for more, not the pre-February price.

And there's currently only about 20 cars on the stand so far due to so many guests coming in members cars or in their own non classic.

So, if you are a member and want a ticket, bet get it sooner than leave it too late.

Dear all,

We have pulled together some general Q+A's for those that may not be familiar with the event:-

Q What time does the gates open on the Saturday?
A The venue normally opens at 8.00am with track runs starting at 9:30am - 5pm

Q What do I have to bring to run my car on the strip?
A The car you want to run, your photo driving licence, and a helmet if your terminal speed at the 1/4 mile is more than 110 mph, you must sign on and a payment of a £25 fee for as many runs as you can get in

Q On Saturday, where can I find RTOC?
A Officially we don't have a plot but most members meet in the field for camping, then walk over to watch the RWYB racing then return to the field after for drinks, camping and banter. We will try and identify ourselves if possible. Generally look for the ugliest people on the site!

Q On Saturday, will I be guided to the RTOC camping area?
A NO but you just need to scope out whoever is there 1st, probably Robbie (Turbo Ted).

Q Can I bring my barbecue for Saturday night?
A YES, but the rules below must be adhered too as well

Camping is included in multi-day ticket prices - no extra fee.
Camping is available at any event that sells a weekend, 2 day or 4 day ticket.
Camping is only available for the night/s that the ticket covers.
Camping is next to vehicles.
Campers are directed through to next available area upon arrival.
No electrical hookups are available.
Camping is in fields, no hard standing is available.
There are showers and toilets on site (small charge for showers).
At larger events, a family camping area is available for people with young children, allocated on a first come first served basis. Ask on gate for a family camping sticker.
Caravans, motor homes, trailer tents and tents are all allowed.
No fireworks.
No glass.
No animals.
No bonfires.
No unauthorised vehicles, i.e. quads, mini-motos.
No driving around site past 9pm.
No music, loud disruption past 11pm.
Day tickets are valid 8am - 6pm (or until racing finishes).
Multi day tickets access is from 8am on the first day to 8pm on the last day. Camping is not available on the last day of the ticket.
Only gas or diesel generators are allowed on site. No petrol generators are allowed! Generators must be turned off between 11pm and 8am, organizers reserve the right to request generators be turned off at any time if deemed to be disturbing other campers

Q On Sunday, what time do I have to be there for the club stand?
A anytime but earlier is better from 08.30 onwards

Q How long do I have to leave my car on the club stand?
A anytime feel free to leave when you like, as long as you can move your car. It would be beneficial to leave it on for as long as possible so we can get good group pictures and show potential new members how good we are!

Q When will I receive my tickets?
A Tickets should have already been received, stand pass are normally about now ish. You must let us know if you have not received your tickets!

Q If I forgot to order a stand pass, can I still get one on the day?
A stand pass's are available from Mick on the day, but you will be prompted to park in the field then find me
for a standpass, then move your car from field to stand

Q Where will RTOC club stand be on the site?
A The site will be in a pre allocated area which we have arranged with POD, there will be signs of where to park on the metal divider fences

Q How many cars can park on the club stand?
A 30/40

Q Can I put my post 2000 Renault car on the club stand?
A ANY RENAULT can park on the RTOC stand no questions, 2 years ago there were 197's, 200's and 225s

Q Do you have a site map I can print off?
A We already posted it in the club website thread. We will link to it.

Q What time will the RWYB start on the Saturday?
A 09.30 for actual runs

Q What time does the Retro show start on the Sunday?
A 08.30 for show, runs start at 09.30

Q Can I buy merchandise or parts on the day?
A We are not sure if GT Turbo Spares will be in attendance or Dale so we would say NO for the moment, but POD has loads of other crap available

Q Who can I speak to if I need assistance?
A Hunt another RTOC member down on Saturday and Mick on the Sunday. Hopefully some of the committee remember their name badges!!Look for anyone with a faded and holed RTOC T shirt!!

just a word of warning on the no glass policy (ie bottles of beer etc) they do carry out random checks at the gate by looking in your boot etc. and you may end up losing them, same go's for any immigrants stowed in the boot with out a ticket.

Note scuttle areas on R5's with complete covers make a good hiding spot as do hollowed out back seats and putting a couple of bottles inside the spare wheel ;)

Of course I cannot condone using such ideas to smuggle in glass bottles, such a thing would be irresponsible :scared::D

Ok just got back sunburnt to bits after an excellent weekend! Met some truly awesome new people as well as the usual old stalwarts. Great turnout for the club, new banners (actually thought mick had brought his fishing gear by mistake) shop stall which seemed a hit, bigger plot and a great position along the track.

We got to witness two new 1/4 records, Robbie's 9.9 in his 5 and the funny jet car doing 300mph!!

Also some of the cars and conversions are the best yet with Ash's V8 5 (polished with Mr Sheen), Andy's VR6 clio getting flogged down the strip waiting for the gearbox to shit itself, and a load of Skeete kitted cars fighting for the 90's again!

Sorry if I didn't catch everyone to say goodbye before I left.

well we had the best position on the stand (thx donna at pod) that id already pre allocated in January and she kept to her word, close to everything, a big thx to dale for getting the whole rtoc shop there somehow in his raider:wasntme: that seemed to do well even with passers by,

all I can say is a massive thx to all of you that came and made it a truly wonderful day, the weather was good all day in the end, ive got some vid of the racing but not a great deal as I was enjoying the day so much

congratulations to Robbie on the best run of 9.9 in the world also which is unbelievable when a Bugatti varon is 10.7 :laugh::laugh::cool:, ill update the leaderboard later

well cant wait till next year now

Yesterday was brilliant!
Well done to everyone that had a part in organising the stand, tickets and passes.

Great weekend rtoc's next year I think club camping should be organised so everyone is together and should camp in the paddock area where we are club stand is setup as you are allowed to camp there and setup club barbaque just I thought as we used to do that's years ago.
