megane 225 engine down

Hi folks have a chance of buying a 2004 225 that has run out of oil and im thinking about buying it. Hes looking £1100 for the car with the engine and all removed which is the part i dnt like the sound of. What you guys think do you think it would be a good buy?? Another winter project..

Seeming you can pick them up for under £2k now and some going close to £1500, is it worth the hassle more than likely needing a new engine or a lot of work doing to the engine depending on damage (bottom end, turbo etc)

I've just rebuilt 2 meg engines. One to the tune of 5k, the other standard with new bearings, rings etc cost about £700. If the crank is damaged allow for a regrind.
