Hi all.

Been going through my car and one thing on my list is the suspension.

The car has clio turbines on 195-45-15.

At the back i cant get my hand in or around the wheel. At the fronts its a struggle too!

The front springs are yellow in colour on standard struts. Had a quick browse on ebay and these may be apex 50mm lowering springs?

Anyhow i want to get some normal springs for the fronts and i want to reset the torsion bar at some point!

Does anyone have a link to some proper gtt springs that are for sale on ebay or point me in the right direction? i see people have had issues with springs turning up and being campus springs and a lot bigger! 60mm or so

Cheers Chris

GT turbo spares could help I'd imagine, start spraying up the torsion bar so it's loose when you come to do it.

Up it to the 35mm set up and raise rear to match. See how you like that. If you want change wheels we can arrange a deal on them ;)

What do you want to achive with this 5 looks wise

Only got it Saturday.

So far stripped all interior, removed all body kit, removed engine.

Going to be going back to factory white, ordered the correct orange side and front indicators, putting graphics back on the side.

Want it a comfy nice all round ride.

keeping turbines on, may leave black as have a hell of a lot to spend on car and engine yet...

I would go with 35mm lowering springs, torsion bar lowered to match. Coil springs have a habit of first settling, then sagging over the years so 35mm ones end up lower more like 50mm+. If you buying standard new springs the car will look rather 'jacked up' or 'stilt' like, campus springs are really tall when new so defo avoid these. A good quality set of 35mm lowering springs should be fine looking good and handling well with a decent ride. ;)

yes! long time!

how much do you think it is lowered by now? is there a way to check?

I've seen a 2nd hand set of shocks inc springs and tophats etc for 85.00 or just get new springs for mine...

I have a new set of the Apex -35mm springs I would sell. They have been fitted but not used so have a few small marks from fitment. Only reason I am changing is I got some red springs which fit my colour scheme better, yep a bit sad really. Yours for £30 plus postage if your interested.

That sounds a great offer! Cheers :D

How do i check mine first? do i have to remove and measure the length of the spring?

Do you know the length of these -35mm springs?

many thanks :)

I can tell you the length tomorrow as they are at the bodyshop currently so will need to collect them after work. To be honest not entirely sure what comparing length to the originals will achieve. If the current springs have been on for some time they will have sagged a certain amount and depending on the spring weights the amount of compression could be different. Maybe I have this wrong but in my mind a spring could be an inch longer but if its a lower spring weight/poundage when the car is sitting on them it could actually make the car an inch lower for example.

OK, so from the start of the coil at the bottom to the top of the spring, measured in a straight line, is 10 1/2" approx. In comparison the Gmax springs I am replacing them with, also claimed to be a 35mm drop is approx 1/4" shorter.

Ok, measured mine but hard to say as on car fitted! The have 6 coils and are 7" in height.

Anyhow i think your springs will be good. Will send you a pm. Cheers
