Cheers for the welcome chaps.

Hopefully a couple of pics of the cossie below for those interested.
Would prefer to find a good 5 from a forum member rather than a trader. preferably phase 2 in white, black, or tungsten.

Prices of RS500's have gone mad last few years and its dragging the rest of the cosworth market up with them. Crazy money for a shonky old sierra.
Gotta say I love mine and 80's turbo cars in general, much more engaging to drive than modern stuff. Mine is 320 bhp and quite lairy to drive as it is.

Yesterday I was behind metallic maroon H plate Sapphire GLX with some 90's option wheels on.

It was kicking some stuff out the back. It looked ok but in reality it was a heap. Didn't stop him from treating it with kid gloves though. Lol.

Like this but with better wheels.

Keep ya eyes open and be patient for the right car, the retro scene and prices have evolved somewhat over the last 18 months or so. :)

Best thing I found was to go and look at any(local if possible) even if they are not great you do get the feel of what your looking at and definetly do your home work the right one will turn up :coffee::agree:
I recon I spent £300-£400 travelling around in diesel :cry:

I lost well over £300 on train fares/food in one day when I "bought" a car on ebay that I'd been assured was fine to drive from Durham to Essex and just needed (and I quote) "a repaint and the interior cleaning". It was a shed. Needed a paint job, new engine and turbo and the interior was the dirtiest I've seen ever.:cry:
And the guy that bought it who I've spoken to since a few times said it barely made it across town.

I'd bought a one way ticket before you ask.

And then when I sold the Raider, I lost another £700 on that as I decided it was better to cut my losses than put more money into it.

Take your time. Please!:agree:

Feel for you there mate thats bad!! I really dont get why people are not honest when selling things or do they honestly believe its all good  scary at times.
What was wrong with the raider Matt?

I wanted an OE car. And although it looked OE, superficially, when you looked at it, to me (back then) it was way off.
It needed quite a bit of work (welding, respray) and it had 15 owners and 115k.
The rear caliper failed and then it started to breathe too. So I had enough and bought the white one I have now. Which, as it happens, needs a load of work too to get it where I want it. But it's a 5 owner car with 79k. So I feel it's a better investment. And white was my 2nd best colour, so not all bad.
