Odd noise...

Guys I have a weird humming noise coming via my turbo out of the pod filter?? any ideas is turbo knackered??

Its deffo turbo as I took pod filter off blocked intake off by hand and noise quietened down 90%!

Any help advice would be much appreciated cheers

With the car switched off, take the air filter off and see how much play there is in the turbo shaft, particularly in the in-out direction. A small amount of up-down play is expected.

Also, spin the shaft to see if it spins freely and silently.

Do you have a dump valve fitted btw?

Let us know what you find. If nothing, maybe take a video of what's happening and upload to the RTOC YouTube channel. :agree:

Cheers for that Trev I posted on the Renault page on fb and it turns out its the restrictors that are missing in my new silicon breather hoses. I took one off form the turbo and the noise was coming through it blocked it and noise went!!

Happy dayz, just ordered 3 restrictors from cgb :)

Yeah now just waiting for the parts to arrive...!!! And to think I was gonna buy a new turbo!!
