Hello all,

I've decided to rejoin the club after about 5 years away.

I've owned my 5 for just short of 11 years now.
I garaged it about 5 years ago and allowed my membership to expire shortly after.

I built a vts track car just before garaging the 5 and had a blast with that for a while but that's gone and I'm now driving a cooper s.

I've been extremely fortunate to have now built an amazing family with a now 3 1/2 yr old boy and baby number 2 due in December. :)

The 5 has been niggling away in the back of my mind for a while and id love to have it on the road again.

I'm not sure if or when that's going to happen but joining the club again is the first step sorted!

I enjoy working on cars so the process of getting it back on the road is something I'm looking forward to in itself. Now that it will be a second car rather than a daily as it was before I should be able to sort a few of the things that used to bug me that I never got time to sort.

Anyway, it's good to be back and I hope you're all well!

Yeah red fades terribly! It's been under a cover so hopefully it won't be too bad when I finally get it out.

That's a beutiful motor. Soft spot for red as my first car was a red gt turbo.

I love red too :agree: it breaks my heart not having its decals though.

Replica decals are as good as the originals these days and somewhere around £100 for a set :agree:

People were struggling with the replicas last time I checked but that was a few years back.

I'll have to consider replicas because I'm not a massive fan of the new style genuine decals for a red car.

My red 5 had dark decals that were original, I never liked the bright white fade on a red 5.

Ive checked the website and he seems to have the new style colour genuine ones but ill get in touch with him and see if there are other options. :agree:

Top Cat and co made replica versions of all the decals for each of the phase 2 car colours. You just need to know what colour car had the shade of decal that you're after and just ask for those.

I haven't made any serious enquiries yet as I'm not in a position to buy any at the minute so didn't want to waste anyone's time. Obviously any info I can get in the mean time though will be very helpful.

I've got a new set of genuine decals I got off eBay ages ago.
Not sure what colour car they are for but definitely not red! :confused:

I'll post a pic of them when I get chance and see if someone can identify them.

Red gt turbo with ronal alloys.....paul nottswoody car is exactly the same.:agree: those alloys are really nice on a 5.:agree:

I've had the turbos on for about 8 or 9 years now and I do still like them.

I'm Planning on refubing a set of my standard wheels to put on it but I doubt I'll get rid of the ronals.

I've got photos scattered all over so I'll have to dig some out.
