Hi all, what could cause the battery light to come on only when braking ,
the more electrics I have turned on the brighter the light.

sounds like alternator dan
remove main battery earth while running if it cuts out then alternator is fecked:agree:

not recommended...........alternator will have no voltage reference!!:(
trade trick for old cars i wouldn't recommend this on a new car, but on old its fine, dont try it dan if ya worried boss

Bad earth or possible failing battery/alternator.

Does anyone have a diagram of the alternator with what wire goes to where. I'm suspecting dodgey wire.

make sure ur connections are secure on the bat and on the back of the alt......put a voltmeter across the bat ,when u start the engine the voltage should go to about 13.5 volts and when revving ,about 14volts......when u put loads on ,the voltage should dip but will come back up to 14 when u rev it......its more than likely a regulator which u can buy if u have the make of the alt....
