Dear Members,

Gauging interest for a club stand for the Fast Lane motor show. Very popular shown with lots of great cars. Located in the north east and in conjuction with the r5gt north east face book members.

Here's a link to the website:

After last year's fiasco, I have privately booked a place, though I'd happily support
a club stand. I'll only have the Laguna Coupé to show. Last year, out of two clubs,
I was the only person to show at a venue nearly 250 miles from home... At least
I was joined by a rather nice combo of R8 and R12 Gordinis :niceone:

BTW, I had already posted a thread about this show in this section...

Steve

Steve,

Yes, last years fiasco was regrettable.:sad2: I did try to get RTOC involved but as you know we received certain criticism on having two Renault Turbo clubs attend. :crap:

This year is different!:yeah: The organiser has raised a particular interest on our club attendance and the R5GT north east owners in particular. Richard (turbopek) is taking names for a club stand.:agree: Lets all get out and support.

Steve if you have any other photos of the event from last year, please populate this thread for interest.

Hi Matt,

I have emailed David to say that I'd like to go on the RTOC stand. I've also
assured him that I'll be turning up regardless. It's a great show with very
welcoming organisers so I hope we'll put on a good show for them!

Both of those cars were fruity and it was a huge thrill to see them approaching.
They were meant to go on the classics stand, but the gate guys told them I was
all on my ownsome, so they kept me company :niceone:

Steve

Steve search ' Renault 5 gt owners north east group'.

Seems to keep all the northern riff raff together :D

Matt,

Sadly, it looks like I'm not going to be able to make this. Tia my dog is now 14
and slowly losing the use of her back legs. Whilst she can walk okay, she's
lost confidence in jumping up, even into her favourite chair. So, I'm having to
postpone my Cumbrian adventures as she won't get into the car either :(
I've tried lifting her with a pet sling, but she rejects it outright.

It's a real shame because that is an excellent show to go to, and I was really
looking forward to it... :sad2:

Steve

No worries Steve. Hopefully you can get tia into a stable condition for the summer. All the best.:agree:

Hello Folks,

I'm now planning on being there on Saturday. This is, of course, subject to Tia being
well enough to travel, etc. I'm a bit cross because she's defying all the odds presented
by the vets. For a dog that apparently has failing kidneys _and_ liver, she's doing
remarkably well, though I do have stay realistic. She is well over 14 after all...

Steve,

I'm looking at venturing up on the afternoon with the kids. I have nothing ready to show so will attend as a spectator. I know there is good interest on FB from the north east 5gt owners. :agree:

Sorry to hear that Matt, I was keeping an eye out for you. Hope all is well now.

Where was it? :)
Karl, we were in the lorry park behind Hexham Auction Mart. All the posh cars were
parked in the front. Seems that lots of peeps didn't venture round the back :(
Still, it's a charity show, so I'm up for supporting it. :niceone:

Steve

I did voice my opinions to the organiser, he's sorry it didn't work out how it was supposed to, next year this will be taken care of, also the removal of the boy racer clubs, so it's heading towards super cars and classics next year hopefully, and possibly a new venue
