2.5" exhausts though this may now be in hand.
Heading over to my local pipe supplier Tueday to collect some parts and have a chat. I've got a couple of manifolds to finish off then I'm on it. :agree:
Is there much demand for the devil strut brace? I thought everyone was going OE these days? Lol
Was thinking of the strut braces aswell jonny.. might be something i could start doing

Think devil stuff is considered virtually OE mate. I think it available from your local renault dealer back in the day.
I'd buy one if price was right :)
I'd have a replica devil if price was agreeable. :agree:

What about copies of safety devices or OMP roll cage? Or do they need some kind of certificate?

Depends on what you intend to use them for. If you want to use them in any certified racing then they will need to be made to the correct standards and fitted in the correct way with re-enforcement plates welded to the car body. Most of the off the shelf cages are already made to FIA/whatever standards which makes it a bit easier, but I think as long as the cage is made to the correct standards it should be ok.
If its just for show, i have (believe it or not) seen people use plastic waste plumbing pipes bolted in with self tapping screws etc...

:laugh::eek::rolleyes::laugh:
ok so im gonna be get dimensions in next week or so to make devil brace replicas, Will let people know price once i sort this as to getting materials, roll cages could be done possibly as the place my bars were bent are certified/approved.
Brackets etc could be a possibility too! anything i can try and make for people i will make.. Just trying to kick start something off to see how it goes..
GTX engine mount I'm sure will sell quite a few of those but not sure if worthwhile as not sure on price people willing to pay for them.
Still maybe something i could make to order as not alot in them really.. Have one on my car i can copy from anyways..

:coffee: nothing anymore surprises me feckin eeedjits
If you're going to go down the route of producing roll cages I'd make it absolutely clear they are for show only and NOT intended as a safety device. :agree:

front and rear bumper mounts that actually fit cars and dont make the bumpers sag down would be good :)

Just make them not hit the bonnet :D
Haha. Yeah def not hitting the bonnet would be a bonus.
In all honesty, I'd like them to look exactly the same, even down to the sticker that was on it.
Just make them not hit the bonnet :D
They just need the turret mounts to not be as tall, as my engine is out I can see exactly were my genuine one catches:agree:
yeah can do them so there not as tall just take what 5mm off them or maybe 10mm..
Just dont want to make them the same then i get comebacks from anyone at devil or something saying copyright etc?
brake fluid reservoirs,
A full alloy pot?
yup like the one markyb had on his one! shouldnt be too hard as the fittings are rubber underneath!
Yeah know what you mean.. Will be able to make them no probs mate

I'll get a PIC tomoz but I reckon about 10mm will be plenty and give a small gap aswell

I think if Devil were actually still making them they might kick up a fuss, but as long as it's sold as a replica I don't think it will be an issue. The slight dimension change would be belt braces though.
Either way, I'd have one! Come to think of it, if you put an adjuster somewhere along its length (a bit like the OMP version) I'd prefer that, but for those who want a close copy for the aesthetics, I can understand that too.
Thanks for them pics mate, i can lower the hole height slightly and the height on the up-piece..
and they will be sold as replicas anyways, if i have to il put a slight difference on them, and an adjuster is something i may be able to do can let people know when i finalise it all
Bare with me peeps having a brace sent to me to get dimensions etc.. will post up once ready to get numbers and see whos interested
an adjuster is something i may be able to do can let people know when i finalise it all
Without an adjuster will still be an option tho?

Yeah jon without be how theyll be made, adjuster will be a added optional extra ;)

Sound.. Be same kinda thing anyways, i know how to stop it hitting bonnet without lowering bar so going to get on the case
I notice on mine the mounting holes for the bar are elongated so you can adjust the position. Looking at James mount's which has a normal hole perhaps this was done by a previous owner or a mod by Devil to overcome the issue with it hitting the bonnet ?.

Appreciate that it might be too early but any idea on approx prices for these items yet?
Great job by the way :smokin:

Mark you fancy polishing my devil brace up yours looks great
Yeah thats like the one i have here the holes have be modified like oval which i can do pr just put a normal bolt hole in? but im gonna be doing them so there slightly different to over come the bonnet issue,
All depending on materials cost once iv sorted that but atm price in mind £130-150, will do these cheap as i can like i say depending on material cost, im not going to overkill the price and be greedy, so could be cheaper could be more thats why i wanna put all info up once iv got the prices,
Rather help people out in the club, also been thinking about a rtoc only thing instead of facebook etc so if people want one then theyd have to join and maybe set it up through club shop?

Hi James, Yeah I could quite possibly do it for you. The mount you can see was pretty much done by hand and took hours. Probably 5 hours work using wet and dry, scrotchbrite pads, my rubbish polishing wheel, and Autosol. However I am going to try the other mount using the old mans bench mounted polishing wheel. If that turns out to be OK, and a lot quicker, I can do yours mate. I might even even have a spare Devil sticker to finish it off for you ;)

Totally agree with this!!
And I agree with making them exclusive to club members too. Another reason to join our merry band!
I think this is what i do.. as im more of a rtoc lad and in with the people on here than on facebook, so will see about doing it through the shop,
Things i make i usually put one of my cheesy stickers on :cooter: but if people dont want one on these i wont bother

Good lad re the shop. It's the way forward. We need to make our club as attractive as possible.
Cheesey sticker????? Lol. Maybe supply both the devil sticker and the cheesey sticker with the brace. Let the buyer put on what they want then. :agree:
And once again-top job for going thru with this :D

Weary, manifold looks fappin awesome!
What's the easiest way to polish the manifold to a mirror finish?
The professionals use a very large floor standing version of the bench grinder. The cloth wheels are more like 30cm across and a maybe 10cm wide.
I used to take Alu and brass parts to a man up the road from here and he'd do a turbo compressor in about 15 minutes. Left drag marks though so not as good as in the photo above but most people were very happy with it.
I then tried out to London Chroming and did get a better finish but they took the P on the price, saying one thing, then charging two or three times that, so something, so I didn't go there again.

All i done was sand scratches out depending on how deep then work finer to like 1500 wet and dry..
180>320>600 wet and dry>1200wd>1500wd
then i just bought a kit for drill of ebay for like £15 And done it with the drill
Sorry for delay on this been that busy with work and by time i finish i cant make it to the places i need to go, but managed to pop somewhere this morning i am getting a price mon-tues for materials to make end pieces i have asked for a price to make 15 braces, just got to order tubing to sort that so thats next thing, once i have had a phone call i can then let people know prices of how much they will cost, just told them 15 it might be more depending on how many people want them so may be slightly cheaper will have to see
