The Roof Situation

After chopping part of a roof off a renault in the scrapyard to blank the sunroof hole we decided it was a better job to weld in a full roofskin.We where told a 5door roof skin would fit bit after cutting the roof off it doesnt.Worst of all my dads took a week off work to finish the car!! Does anyone up North have a gt turbo roof without a sunroof that we could come and chop off?

I feel sick its bad enough me and my dad spent a full day seperating the 5door roof from the 5door frame.Then he has spent 2days removing the roof on the car and the car would have been finished ready for paint today.Now we have to find a roof and no doubt pay for it after driving hundreds of miles from Cumbria,spend another day seperating the roof from the frame etc etc.The sooner this is sorted the better.

I have one on my 5. Thing is, I don't want to leave it out the front with no roof for a couple of weeks till I get chance to weigh it in.

When are you scraping it mate? Your nice and close for us to pick it up.We could maybe get it the day before it goes?

If not anyone else got one? Must be 100% dent free with no sunroof

Couple of weeks I think. Pretty sure it's dent free. I'll let you know before it goes.

Also I think I recognise the car from Barrow car cruises I think? It always looked well.I take it you are scrapping the shell due to rott?

Its about 350 miles away but thanks for letting me know anyway mate.Hopefully I will get one off James 100miles away.I will probably need to hire a van as the last roof we picked up needed the tailgate up in the air on a ford mondeo.

Yeah I was thinking it looks like a fiat 500 type slide back job.I will just get some tarp from work and job done :-)
