On Big-Steve's car the alt is only giving out 6v max. He's tried a tested one and a new one but is still getting the same.
The voltage is being taken from the alt its self and at the battery. Anyone know the pops?
The wires that are on it are... One to the starter and one to ground, if that helps make it clearer.

has the alt got a good earth. are the top two wires round ther right way.

He's going to try an earth from the alt straight to some metal work.
I'm on the mobile-blower to him doing this so its a bit akward... :laugh:
We only want to go to Ace :(

try it straight from alt to battery just to make sure of good connection. and check the top two wires

Is B+ to the starter and B- to earth?

puple near the rad white towards the bulk head

Erm, he has Red and black with a white strip :confused:

i would say so try them both ways just to eliminate that make sure you get a reading when doing so

did he just suddenly get 6v hence he wanted to change the alt. or has this problem only occured because of changing the alt. also do the volts change when revved at all can he get more than the 6

He done some tiding up in the bay and its happened since then. Clasic 'if it's not broke-don't fix it!'

he has some good pics in his profile he can use as reference mate as you can clearly see the alt;)

I don't think he has any pics up of it. He's sorted it today. Turns out he didn't have the little plug with the purple and yellow cables there at all.... I don't know what he done with it but its all good now :agree:

Yeah, I knew what you ment after looking at mine but it was a mission doing it down the phone :laugh:
