Wowzers these have shot up in price since I last looked. Fml.
Think one could be made from scratch ?
Would the connectors still be available ?

on wheelers dealers they made a loom looked really easy tbh measure all wires up get a sheet of wood and and measure out on the wood bang some nails in where the plugs are and route the same colour wires to these points similar to what jeffs done matey

What about the plugs though. Plug of death easy. Just the others, old ones reusable ?

You should be able to reuse a lot of the connectors, as most of the pins can be removed and new ones fitted. Try http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/home/homepage.php and http://www.polevolt.co.uk/ for parts. They sell wire by the length so it doesn't work out too expensive.

iv just redone mine, I bought one off ebay ( supposed to be mint) wasn't. got 1 from a old engine iv got and used the 1 from current project, label ALL connector ends, strip all tape and covers off just putting bits of tape on were the loom Ts off. out of all 3 looms it was turbo sensor(turbo heatsheild) and perc and rad temp sensor that had wires butcherd. odd wire joined and spaded or scotched. over plenty of room and few hours totally left undisturbed and Haynes manual..not much use iv rebuilt one with knowing no bodged joints and original connectors. not running perc so removed unwanted extra wiring and used 3 looms to replace damaged wires to original spec
