Hi guys, I am converting my twin engined R5 to a mid-engine 4.2L Audi V8 with six speed transaxle box.

should be a beast, but personally I'd forget trying to make it work with the GTT subframe and suspension, chuck that lot in the bin, and have a look at what's used on similar power mid engined cars; ultima, GT40 etc.
Andy
Cool project.
I'm very jealous of your gearbox!
very nice. how far dose the engine sit in the car.

Love your efforts so far, but I'm with Andy on the rear suspension. You need to junk the GTT stuff and look at some of the mid-engined kit cars for inspiration. I'd also consider increasing the the track especially at the rear!
I know that there was a dude that fitted the same setup to his Lotus Esprit, but they're obviously mid-engined to start with. It was in a PPC article a few years back. He made a nice little adaptor for the gear change mechanism though.

Looking good. How's the driveshaft interface going? Audi to GTT? Or have you gone ofr something bespoke?

The drive shafts are done. It was quite straightforward as there was not much difference between the diameters of both shafts. I will post some photes of the shafts next week.
that's looking good. coming along nicely. now the bulkhead is in the engine dose not look as thought its sat in the front.

There's a kit on ebay ATM, its a montecarlo kit that's wider than normal. Might be good for this type of conversion.
Good progress.
I'm very jealous of all that space you have around the engine, and the firewall. Mines a nightmare to work on due to it being all boxed in, but I wanted it all hidden.

I was going to use Dimma rear arches but have decided to leave the shell as standard as possible.

Roby knows my car really well, I was going to use large wheels but I am going to use 15s and the fitment is perfect (in my opinion)

The space is not too bad and that is why I didn't use cross bars from the rollcage to strut tops, so that I can have access to engine from side windows if needed. I considered boxing the engine in but decided against it as i hate struggling.
I saw your car about six years back at nat and it looked amazing.
