Hi guys

I think iv got an air lock in the cooling system, I dont think the water is circulation as nothing is coming through the top pipe to the header tank, should I have water coming though that? When should the fan cut in? Also how do I get rid of the air lock if there is one? I tried bleeding it, but can't seen to get rid of it. Thanks

If you have an old header tank cap you can put a valve in it and pressure up the water system with it, forcing air out.

I'd be checking the stat is not blocked up with crud, and working.

Enough coolant/water in the system in the first place?

It just seems like it doesn't want to bleed from the nipple on the pipe what comes from the swirl pot, it's like it not circulating

Pump internals could be shot

Infact I'd strip the cooling system down and flush it/mega clean all bits.

Had same prob. Over weekend power flushed rad and all pipe work, matrix etc. Now sits at good temp and coolant flowing properly.

Basically follow Haynes manual for fill/bleed sequence. But flushing needs doing really well.

how do i tell if the water pump is working ok without stripping it down? thanks
