Oil cooler flow direction

Ok chaps, I'm in the middle of reworking a few bits on the 5 which includes shifting my oil cooler, in the old position it was mounted horizontal so I had no problems with air locks, however it's now going to be mounted vertically so I need the feed to go into the lower port of the cooler and out the top.

The problem I'm having is I don't know which line is feed and which is return.

I'm using a stock 5gtt sandwich plate, standing looking at the front of the block which is which, left or right is feed?

Right hand side on my c1j is the feed to the cooler. Hope this helps

Just so there's no confusion, that's right hand side looking at engine from front off car ;)
