car reg not showing on dvla check??

Hello

I'm after some advice. I'm going to see a car tomorrow advertised on autotrader.
I ran the reg through the dvla checker and it didn't show up. I tried another couple of free ones and eurocarparts but not recognised. It's a 2004 vw Passat so not New!??

Any ideas why not showing??

sounds dodgy even my tungy that got written off a long time ago is still on the data base , id be checking it out fully with all documents mate if i was you, you dont want to buy a lemon do ya

No. Not really. I was wondering why it didn't show up. Never seen that before.

I'll check all the papers and have a look. If it doesn't show up then can't really get a hpi report can I?

nope cant get a hpi if its not on the system mate sounds weird to me thou i never even came across this when i bought my subaru which has a northern Irish plate on it

My laguna had a private plate on from new and then changed. I struggle with similar searches sometimes.

My previous BWM didn't show up properly on those text check services due to private plate changes. It had at least 3 different plates over a 3-4yr period and they were all legit, as was the car. :agree:

Private plates can mess things up and confuse both DVLA and HPI checks no end!
