I have indeed been in contact with xenon about this, well actually it was regarding sangliers 15, he then mentioned this, as Arthur said the frenchies are hard to get hold of:laugh: I then spoke to big steve as I didn't want to tread on anyones toes, I said that obviously we don't have to sleep in the same beds and we can all be cival, steve was fine when I met him at the retro show, ive now let xenon know about this and am waiting a reply but by the sounds of it this is going to be huge on a mahoosive scale and we should be involved but id just like to hear back from xenon with the go ahead before I announce it fully, if I don't hear something soon ill sort something

A few of us went to 25yrs of the gtt at Lè chatre.
It was a total waste of time.
There were a load of cars in a field and a few on a little track and that was it.
My gtt engine blew a couple of weeks before the trip so I took my M3 and I'm glad I did, if is have done the journey in the gt I would have been pissed!
We actually left the "show" early and went to Disney land.
It was much better there. Lol

I don't want to put a downer on this but want people to be aware it might not be as good as you imagine.

I definitely would not go again.

R5MJH
22-07-2014, 00:17
all ill say is that if its as good as sangliers ill be very happy, it was the ultimate in shows ive ever been to and am promised its going to be even better, best to let people decide but i recon i can name 5/6 people who would go straight away easily, each to there own though matey

So obviously your free to choose what you like regarding track time, i don't think i'll be tracking but i'm sure there will be plenty to see and talk about during the day.

Also the drive on sunday would be great imo, a great way to enjoy the French landscape/roads!

I'm going to inform if camping on Friday is possible too so people can head in that direction Friday morning and stay for the night (if you guys are up for some camping/bbq/beer).

here's a little planning/suggestion from Turbo-renault might you people want to go in unison:

6 - 7 Raffle

Sunday 10th May OPTION 1

Sunday 10th May OPTION 2

The proposition i made for the RTC is to meet up between Breda and Antwerp to convoy to La Chatre, however i noticed on our way we come near Calais so if we plan carefully we could drive in a big mofo convoy towards La Chatre :D

Could a mod mention the deadline in the title please?

I've had contact with the secretary again and things are slowly but surely becoming more clear. They sent me an Excel sheet so i'm able to fill out everyone's details on one form.

Everyone who will be tracking do have to make a copy of their drivers licence and fill out the legal form for tracktime. Also a passenger will have to pay €10 to go along on track but i have no idea wether this is tied to the person or the person with the car?

I'll inform you which details i need near the deadline so we can get this thing sorted.

Yours faithfully,

Arthur (Int. area rep)

I'll gather all the info from the 15th mate, that way i can book us in after that and maybe get the payment sorted before the end of January too.

Have you guys thought about a timetable regarding the tunnel yet? Ted, since you have to travel almost double the time as the rest, are you going to split up the journey?

I've checked the fastest route for you lot, zie Germans and us and our routes cross at Combles. Maybe if we make a good planning we could convoy the last 4 hours....

I have 7 cars from Germany, 7 (+4prov.) from The Netherlands and 5 from you which would make for an awesome big convoy!!

I was thinking of gathering somewhere around Combles France, this would give us the chance to convoy with ze Germans.

Somewhere around 13:00 would be reasonable as a departure time from there, maybe you lot could try to account for that? It's approximately a 1,5 hour drive or to round it off 2 hours from Calais

Tutuur
09-01-2015, 09:38
okay, let's say 13:00 is the departure time from combles, that would give us some spare time to get to the destination and still be reasonable for all of us i guess...

just had a look on the eurotunnel website, let's say you would take the 9:20 train. it will arrive around 10:55 (gmt+1 i guess), which leaves you over 2 hours to get at Combles (only 1,5h drive according to google).

if we then depart around 13:00 from Combles, we would be in La Chatre around 18:00 give or take. We then find a place to get our stomages filled and continu to either the camping or booked hotels.

let me know what you think....

Route proposed = 1477km, thats 918 miles
Plus 180 miles from Coventry to the Chunnel and 180 miles back thats 1278 miles.....lets say 1300 miles.

Fuel at 30mpg in the Clio : 1300/30 = 43.3 gallons = 197L @ £1.10/L = £217 (or)
Fuel at 25mpg in the 21 : 1300/25 = 52 gallons = 236L @ £1.10/L = £260

Hotels for 4 nights @ (lets say) average €50 a night = £40 * 4 = £160ish (**Shared room may halve this cost**)

Food, drink, beer easily another €50 a day = £40 * 4 = £160ish

That makes it about £580 plus another £100 just for kicks and souveniers, round it up to £700.

This ^^ pretty much matches up with what I spent on last years trips, £500-£700, but remember you need a backup fund in case anything goes wrong!

Okay, so this is the definitive list of people who are coming from the UK, i'd swear it was more but unfortunately it isn't....

First thing i would like to know wether or not you're going to be tracking? as this would mean i would have to need a few more details from you.

So let's start with the list of info i need for you to be registered to the meeting:

Last name - first name- e-mail address - license plate no. - no. of people who are going to the meeting (there are reduced rates for kids so let me know if you bring kids) - number of nights you are camping.

The costs for the meeting are €18 per adult, that includes a lunch, dinner and breakfast sunday morning, the costs for camping are €2,20 p.p.p.n.

I would like to have this info before monday so i can let you all know what the costs would be and get everything arranged with the Frenchies before the end of this month.

Once all that is settled we can look forward to an awesome trip accompinying 10 cars from the Netherlands and 9 from Germany :agree:

okay, let's say 13:00 is the departure time from combles, that would give us some spare time to get to the destination and still be reasonable for all of us i guess...

just had a look on the eurotunnel website, let's say you would take the 9:20 train. it will arrive around 10:55 (gmt+1 i guess), which leaves you over 2 hours to get at Combles (only 1,5h drive according to google).

if we then depart around 13:00 from Combles, we would be in La Chatre around 18:00 give or take. We then find a place to get our stomages filled and continu to either the camping or booked hotels.

let me know what you think....

Good for me.

Hi lads,

I've been just informed by the Frenchies i forgot some costs, i thought the 'Exposants' was only for stand holders but it appears to be entrance to the site for your car, so if you don't sign up for exposants your car will be outside the perimeter.

What this means for us is i need an additional €10 for every car wanting access to the site....

I told the Frenchies i find it very strange that we have to pay to make there meeting more interesting but they told me this is just the way it is.....

Also a plus for Romil and Jimmy, if i have to collect money again anyway i can also sign you two up for the meeting.....

So please let me know:
Your full name
Email address
License plate no
Wether you want to camp or not
And the numbers of persons you are going with.

For the rest, if you forgot, my PayPal is t u t u u r @Hotmail.com

Cheers,

Tuur

Tutuur
18-02-2015, 18:34
Okay lads, another update on this organisational hell!

I've had contact with the Frenchies again and it appears the €18 is only for diner at night near the camping. Considering the amount of people staying in a hotel (if there are even people left) i guess we'll rather eat some food at a local restaurant.

So i'll be refunding everyone the €18 p.p which has been paid. (sorry to say i won't be paying PayPal fees as it's eating enough of me already)

Only thing i need to know from you lads is if your definitively going or not. Please don't let me ask this multiple times again and respond asap as i'm getting a bit tired of this waiting, asking and contacting everyone........

Cheers,

Arthur (Int. Area Rep.)

For those that are going I say we meet up with Arthur as above but leave an hour earlier (0820) ish on the train / tunnel
We need to check how to pay (if we need to) for tolls once over in France

TR guys are just heading straight down ( I don't think its out of the way at all if we meet Tutuur) they are getting train at 0710 i think.

Tutuur
27-02-2015, 07:54
TR guys are going a day early and visitting other stuff. Easiest way to pay toll is by creditcard, otherwise cash

The time i proposed gives you a 30min span depending on how ling leaving the train etc. Takes, however we have a lunch break at combles so another spare 1 hour

Tutuur
01-04-2015, 17:54
Finally after a few angry emails i got a reply from the French secretary.

Basically the rates for the camping have changed twice in the meantime but i have some spare cash because you lot paid for diner too so when i receive the money i'll try to find out how much everyone (only Romil and Dan....) ows and pay you back.

For the ones who dropped out, the same counts for you, i'll refund you as soon as i get the money back. Obviously i'll be transferring it through PayPal on your expenses.

Maybe i've said enough but this is the first and last time i'm organising a trip to France, what a complete nightmare!

I'm having a bit of an issue here.

It's been a pain in the ass to get this organised, paying the Frenchies, people moving back and forth with going or not, people having payd, some have not.

I promised you i'll get everyone there money back for the ones who dropped out, also i told the ones that are still going should receive a bit of a refund.

Well, the Frenchies have changed there prices a few times now, i tried to convince them there was something wrong with there calculations, emailing back an forth all to an end of getting less money back than i was supposed to.

I have made calculations and basically it comes down to all of this is now eating out of my own bank account.

So unfortunately, despite wanting to refund you, i hope you have understanding for this......

I'm really, really sorry but this has been such an headache and now it's only getting worse.
I've almost come to a point of blowing this off but i'm too stuborn to not go and have a cracking weekend!

I hope you understand my point of view! If not i'll refund the ones who dropped out regardless as a promiss is a promiss....
