For sale is my 1990 glacier white GT Turbo that I have owned since January 2013. I bought the car from a member on here, and I believe the car was in the club before him as well. I am looking for £2500.

The first thing to say is that my car is not mint, and is not fully restored. However, it as a good clean example and turns heads when out boosting and at shows.

This listing will be thorough and I will list every single fault or niggle the car has (to my knowledge)...and I will also add pictures to back this up. My reasoning behind this is that somebody can then make an informed decision about the car, and will hopefully have no nasty shocks if they come to view.

A bit of history first. When I bought the car it needed a fair bit of tidying up. It had a damaged bodykit, non OE engine bay, bad boy bonnet, smoothed tailgate and rear bumper, black after market alloys, no rear interior fitted (no seats, shelf, door cards etc) as it had a roll cage fitted before, and a few other bits and bobs that needed replacing such as after market steering wheel, gear knob etc.

Mileage wise, in 2007 the mileage was 112081 and this year the mileage is 116700. There is a fair bit of history from the cars early days, but not that much from recent years.

First I will list all the bad or negative bits.......

Loose cowling under steering wheel

Boot does not lock (no key)

Centre air vents looks a bit tatty from me removing old after market dials

Rear parcel shelf purchased damaged and repaired by me. Looks good from above but a bit tatty from underneath

One or two small drilled holes in dashboard due to old immobilisers

Windows have been tinted in the past, and the odd bit of sticker residue still remains here and there

Rear quarter windows have been screwed shut

Section of interior boot trim missing

No spare wheel or wheel cage underneath

Horn is pretty puny (but got through MOT)

Bonnet alignment is slightly out on one side by 3 or 4mm (NOW SORTED 18/6)

Front bumper has small crack low down

Sunroof has been sealed shut

The tailgate is not the original item, but a pearl white sprayed glacier white

The bonnet is not the original item, but a silver one sprayed glacier white

A few minor dinks here and there...the car would look amazing with a respray, but that would be a luxury and not a necessity. It still looks nice as it stands

Front grille has been damage repaired, and you can still see minor hairline cracks up close

Couple of bits of paint work need touching up in places where I removed the old bodykit that had been grip filled on.

Front fog lights not wired up (not sure why not)

Rear door cards are phase one cards

The heater matrix leaked and has been bypassed within the engine bay. So currently no heating

Passenger front seat has ripped arm rest

Offside inner front wing and nearside inner front wing both show corrosion (MOT advisory)

Front sub frame slightly distorted (MOT advisory)

Roof lining perished around sunroof opening

Slight 'bubbling' under paint near bottom corner of windscreen

I have clamps currently on the front springs purely for aesthetic purposes. The car has Campus front springs fitted (so I'm told) and the car sat slightly too high. So for quickness I clamped them down

I've noticed that the speedo has decided to 'bounce'

I have also noticed the temperature gauge has stopped working

And now for the good and better bits.......

The car has 11 months MOT and 5 months tax

Just had new rear wheel bearings, disks and pads fitted

Last summer had the engine bay serviced and tidied up by Marky Mark who replaced all the non OE parts in the bay with OE parts

Second hand OE turbo heat shield purchased but not yet fitted to bay

Under bonnet matting acquired and fitted to bonnet

Refurbished GT Turbo boot badges

Brand new front grille metal badge

Brand new amber indicators all round

Brand new headlight units (Lucas units so not OE, but still look great)

Brand new front Cibie fog lights

New reproduction side decals

Sills were slightly corroded, so for the MOT these were patch welded where required and are now solid

Side skirts were fully refurbished

Red carpet was redyed (now bright red again)

Set of original Speedline alloys professionally refurbished

Excellent condition OE front door cards acquired. Passenger side fitted but drivers side still to go in

New foam bolsters fitted to passenger side front seat

Refurbished OE steering wheel

The car has not seen a single drop of rain or water since I drove her home in Jan 2013. She has been garaged ever since, and only comes out on sunny days. I even wash the car with a dry wash product so as not to get her wet

I think that is pretty much everything. I'm sure I've forgotten loads, but just fire any questions you have my way and I will try my best to answer them. I'm looking for £2500. I don't want to sell her for less if I'm honest, she's worth more to me than that and I would rather tuck her away back in the garage than go lower.

Hi Mark, it's one of those situations where I want to sell and not sell both at the same time. My wife and I have just bought a seaside lodge and the money would certainly help toward maintaining that. However, I don't absolutely need the money so if the car doesn't sell I would still be happy.

I'll just let the advert run and see what happens :)

Taking my 5 off the market now. I hardly got any interest at £2500, and only a small bit of interest at £2000. To be honest, I personally value the car at over £3000 but obviously the retro car buying public do not agree with me ;)

So I've decided to just enjoy the car myself, and gradually sort out all the niggles that I listed in my for sale post.

Mods...should I delete this post or can it remain?

What a shame.

I saw this at marks ages ago and it looked way more than a 2k car back then. With all that's been done it was a steal at that price.

The market is a funny old thing with hugely fluctuating prices.

Good luck whatever you decide to do :agree:

Cheers buddy. The flammin' thing has started emitting some white/grey coloured smoke now on idle. Need to get that sorted no matter what, whether I sell or keep her.

Genuinely honest ad and worth 2500 all day long, honestly it's a different story when people value them to sell themselves isn't it??

First post!

Did you sell this in the end or decide to keep it?

He hasn't been online since August, so I'm guessing it has sold based on that. :agree:
