What's the best recommended engine oil?

Depends upon engine and state of tuning/car uses. As standard mineral oil is specified, however a good quality semi synthetic will offer more protection, some people even run fully synthetic if running big boost and horse power, each to their own. For a standard or mildly tuned 5 gtt I would run a good quality 10w-40 or 15w-40 semi synthetic oil, along with a genuine blue Purflux oil filter ( Purflux LS590 - these are best for oil pressure as correct size with pressure plate in) ;)

Genuine filters are available on ebay, so are the sump washers. :)
