Guys,

When I bought my car it was already lowered -50mm on springs. I've now got coilovers and wondering if i should return it to its original ride height or keep it lowered?

If lowered what's the preferred ride height? -35mm or -50mm?????

Cheers

Personally I prefer the standard height, you can just about get over a speed bump then!

Unless you are going on track then the standard height is more than good enough for fast road in my opinion. I had my previous 5 lowered 35mm and it hurt my spine whenever I went over a tic tac!

imho 35mm is fine the ride can be setup soft if the shocks can be adjusted I wouldn't bother with 50mm if you have loads of speed bumps like our town

with coilovers you have unlimited options, set it to the combination of ride quality and looking low enough that you prefer.

torsion bar at the rear can be bit harder to fine tune but if out take your time should be able to match it nicely to whatever you set the front to

What is the standard height from ground to wheel arch.

My phase 2 was on spax gas shocks and was 45 front and even more on the back which apparently is wrong having the rear lowrr on a front wheel drive car.Anyways it was mega flingable in the corners and the back end often stepped out but was controllable.

When I took the car apart the shocks where ruined so I cant wait to drive my car with avo coilovers and polly bushes!!

My friend has a standard phase 1 gtt and it corners amazing it doesnt even have a strut brace or anything and bodyrolls a bit but is ideal and he told me coilovers are worse because they make the car bob and understeer with being stiffer?
