The local auto factors have ordered me in a replacement steering rack however now I am home and done some research I think they have ordered me a square pinion one rather than a splined. Would I be correct in thinking its just the 'yoke', in want of a better word, that would need changing from a splined to square ?. The part I refer to is where the steering UJ bolts too and then in turn this bolts to the rack.

If that's correct does anyone have a square yoke in case I need one ?.

Cheers

The R5 came with both types, it just a case checking what one you have before ordering. :agree:

Hi Goobie. I did tell them when I ordered it that I needed a splined rack but looking at the part number I am pretty sure they have ordered a square one. I just thought if it was easy to covert I would go with it.

Cheers

U can adapt them I think to suit. Using old bits off the rack. I'd get them to order a direct replacement though mate, it'll save u aggro in the long run.

Hi Mark, easy enough to change the lower section of the column to make it the correct fit..
