Hole in my carb?

My cars not running right, I'm unable to set up the carb. Adjusting the mixture screw makes little difference. Afrs are also all over the place. Could this hole in my carb be causing me issues?

Ok, when was the carb last rebuilt? does the hole go all the way through and leak air or fuel?

I bought the carb reconditioned from mike about two years ago, it's only done about 1500 miles in that time though, and I,ve not been happy with it the way the cars ran for most of those miles.

I'll have to put it back on and check for leaks
