i know one way of bending a rod is by over revving but what else can bend one as never been over revved and was ok when i last looked at them in 2009. nerver noticed any problem and only noticed when rebuilding the engine.

also has anyone close to manchester got one lying around. thanks

I bent a push rod by over adjusting the tappets when I was doing my first ever head gasket change, learnt that one the hard way.

In my experience they just bend eventually.

I'd whip ya cam followers out for inspection.

Just make sure you put them back in the same place.

they have all been out and inspected all is well. only thing is i forgot about them when i turned the bottom end over so all fell out. have refitted them into the block and all move freely in there holes.

:crap: they wear to the cam so should really be in the right order. It may be worth removing them and getting them refaced
