First post!

Hello all

It's been a while since i have been on the forum and even longer since i have owned a GT Turbo.

My name is Stuart Beales and i used to help run the R5 GTT owners club back in the 90's with Goher, Neil Hunt etc etc.

My first 5 was a red phase 1 which i slowly modified and ran some of the first batch of GT Tuning parts on and my car was used in the making of the Pace Charge coolers.

I sold the Phase 1 and decided on building (in my eyes) the ultimate 5 GT Turbo and along with D&J motorsport the Renault 5 4x4 Cosworth was born.

I see my 1/4 mile time is still on the leader board which made me smile. 1997 and the car wasn't even running much power at the time. The car was coming together and was about to have a 500bhp engine fitted when it unfortunately caught fire and was written off by the insurers.

Well it's great to be back on the forum and i look forward in reading whats going on in the world of Renault Turbo's these days.

Welcome back!

I was actually talking about this car the other day, be good to get some decent pictures up of it. :agree:

Their a member on here now who is busy tackling a Evo 8 4x4 build conversion. :agree:

I'm kinda surprised but not at the same time that this hasn't really been try'd again since yours. Been a few mid/rear conversions and various engine swaps, even twin engine, but no proper straight line 4x4 set up's.

I would love it if someone made another one...

I will have a look at the Evo8 one, is there a build thread?

I have some old video footage somewhere on VHS so i will see if i can get that transferred and stick up some you tube clips.

I've got plenty of old GT Turbo owners club meets on VHS aswell so will get those up aswell

For the benefit of the younger members, VHS = Video Home System, it is what we used before DVD was invented. :cooter:

Tomorrow's lesson will be about cassette tapes and cd's. :wasntme:
