I know owning a low mileage car would be great but im guessing very few of us has a low mileage car, mines has just topped 172000 miles and still seems to be going strong, apart from a few recent wiring problems that are now sorted its all good, even the body work isn't 2 bad, is anyone else in this ball park for high miles

162000 the closest so far, im thinking if its not broke dont fix it with mine, i dont want to touch it just incase it causes problems

68 and a bit thousand on the phase 2. Never had the head off or anything more than servicing in its 24 years
I regularly spank the crap out of it and it never misses a beat. If only all my 5s had been that good

Yes and no in my opinion. Certainly if its running well don't go pulling major things apart but just be aware that 20+ year hoses, as one example, are going to be past their best. I think sympathetic maintenance is what's required. Sods law is such that things will always fail at the worst possible time.
