hi all, right ive put all mikes suspension on the car and refitted the drive shaft,
befor i took it to bits it had a knock but i put it down to all the play in the donuts and other suspension parts, i put it back on and briefly drove it tonight and the knocks still there im going to check tom but has anyone else had this??

theres no play in the struts themselves its had new track rod ends and bottom swivels about 500 miles ago and the uj dont seem to have play and also it only seems to do it when on the ground tbh theres not much it could be maybe the rack or the rack track rod, does the bottom part of the column in the car every go???
also the steering wheel has no play in the car in or out so i presume the steering column bush is ok

thanx in advance mick:agree:

I know it sounds daft but could it possibly be something else. Like the water bottle moving around in the bracket. I've always thought the rubber strap with a load of water in the bottle would do a poor job of supporting it.

The plastic cover on the bottom of the rack sometimes comes loose. Mine did and knocked like a slag when I turned.

probably not the water bottle then if you can do it while stationary. I hate any sort of knocks or squeaks and they are usually quite hard to pin down. What about the driveshafts. Not that I know anything about drive shafts but could be one could be on it's way out.

ok had a quick look today and its got play in the rack somewhere, looks like it could be the ns track rod but not 100% im going to get it in the air tom and remove the steering rack gaitors to see whats goin on also im not ruling the uj totally out until i check it tom, hopefully this will be the end of it and then mot but tbh mikes got my subaru for a week and i need the seicento so hes not that worried anywayz pmsl:laugh:
