Hey guys.

I recently got a quote from Graham Sykes. They asked if I belonged to a club. I'm not entirely sure to what extent I have to be 'in a club', but I mentioned being part of this lovely place. They've now ask me to prove I'm a member. Anyone know how I go about doing that or what I have to present?

Cheers.

Ah okay, don't think I've received my pack yet - only been a member for about a month or so.

Cheers for the heads up.

All good now, cheers. Went with Graham Sykes. £300 - right bargain! Was going to go with Performance Direct, but they wanted the engine modification, then the engine type, then the model number, then the engine serial number (all reasonable requests, of course), but thought they were a bit shirty. Might just be me, though.

Cheers chaps.

my insurance is up for renewal and I'm going to go with Graham sykes.
but I can't fined my members number so how would I go about getting it?

This is a good point. I just looked through my profile and couldn't find a unique number. There is an 'old membership number' set at 2498.

http://www.rtoc.org/boards/member.php?u=60

Then I looked on the reverse of my latest membership card and the number appears there too. It doesn't look like you have a number in your profile but maybe you do on your card?

If you can find these things, then the way to prove it to your insurance company is to provide your login name, number if you have one, and then the contact email ansd URL of the club so that they can check if necessary.

Your membership number is: 5216 which will be on your membership card :)

Trev, the old timers like us (pre 2008) have an 'old' membership number. Anyone that registered after 2008 will not have their number shown in their profile but will be on their membership cards.

Graham Sykes have been insisting on proof of membership of late so it's important to keep your card safe if you plan on using them. :)

Ok good stuff Alex, thanks. :agree:

Old timers is about right!

I like the idea that insurers check up properly. It gives better incentive for people to actually join RTOC rather than chancing it by hoping the insurance company wont check.

Graham Sykes have been insisting on proof of membership of lateNot only that, but you need to be in the club the deal was done with, ie, I can't get my Fiat the discount using the RTOC membership, even though I set up the deal with Graham Sykes, I have to use the Fiat club membership.

I got a quote on the 5 this week from them, about £235, best ever price. All mods declared, fully comp, parked on street in Easter London. Introductory max bonus shared with the Fiat. I don't have the money at this time to get the 5 going though.
