Hi

I bought left hand drive Renault 5 GTX EBS cabrio from seller in Poland who will export this car to UK soon, now need rear left window and if possible complete hood cover in good condition as the one on car badly damaged and ripped in some area of hood.

You can still buy the parts brand new, I very much donut you will find them 2nd hand.

New the window is roughly £200 + delivery and import taxes.
But I don't think they have any in stock
The good is £1000 + import and delivery and again I think there's no stock left.

Your prob better off taking the car to a uk company to do the roof but don't expect change from £1k

Got any pics of the car?

Also out of interest what made you buy a lhd gtx from Poland?

Yes I am aware of hard to get hold of new parts from new company called A.C.T (Belgium)
who taken over the company EBS and if in stock, it would be bloody expensive

So I am hoping anyone who have or know of anyone got 2nd hand parts :scared:

What's make me buy that car from Poland? Well, it's took me best part of two years to search for r5 EBS that I can afford and sent out my request on French EBS cabrio website and the guy who advertise it for 1,850euros (£1,450) needed to sell one of his many projects to fund house build offer to sell me with free delivery as his mate do car transportation every
month from Poland to UK owed him favour so I bought it :D

Looks good.
Is that a std colour?
It's a type 2 convertible.

What's the plans?
When do you get it?

No, the standard colour was white and am planning to return it to white with GTT bodykits and nice tasty 15" alloys and maybe put C1J turbo engine.

Just need new hood cover fabric and rear left glass behind LHD driver's side.

It will arrive at the end of this month/1st week of April

Do you want me to find out if they have a window?
I'm about to place an order with act so we could split the delivery cost if you want?

This is just a thought, but surely it couldn't be to much of a challenge to convert to RHD if you're stripping down the body and engine anyway.

When I stripped mine apart it was very obvious to tell where the car would have been lhd had that been it's destiny. I'd have thought that it would be possible to weld a plate in the hole where the steering rack passes through. Then cut a new one into the right side of the car and fit all the components from a RHD car?

I am still waiting for the EBS to arrive here, it is now half way across from Poland at the moment, I'll let you know by Monday if it is not too late?

Thanks

It can be done if got the time, money and complete donor car, preferably tatty but runner r5gtt to use as template for converting to RHD and parts from that donor car - anyone can donate it to me free? Lol

Meanwhile, want to use EBS cabrio ASAP ready for the summer months after registering to UK plates and get MOT/road tax on it lol

Sean,

If I were you, I'd leave the roof down, have a tonneau cover made to cover over it and never put it up, or even uncover it. Then I'd remove the rear glass as you'll never need it and remove the front door glass too. By far the cheapest way and the car will look great. Then just drive it on dry days.

Obviously this would require the car to be kept in a garage.

It would be ideal and cost savings if I got garage lol, I got plot of area ready to build double garage next to cabrio where it's parked so hopefully soon

I got tonneau cover in boot, just need good clean up and make it nice and shiny cover instead dull and fading orginial black cover

Hi

Yes Monaco 1.4 auto is mine with 17k on clock but suspected it 117k due to wear and tear on on leather interior, bought it from Stowmarket in Suffolk, same car as you viewed on waste trip?

Thanks for comment on purple cabrio but am planning to change it back to original white colour in near future, handy for ex-paint sprayer myself lol
