Emailed gsf about there headgasket, and they said the gasket they sell as 'uprated', and the kit they sell for less is the same gasket.

They also told me both gaskets are 1.4mm thick, arnt the 'uprated' gaskets 1.9mm?

i also emailed gsf and asked if there was any difference between the head gasket and the headgasket in the headgasket set? i also asked why the headgasket was more expensive than the headgasket set.!

i got a reply email which basically said, "we dont know the reason why the headgasket set is cheaper than the single headgasket" :jerkoff:
who else is supposed to know:rolleyes:

how ever i do know that the meillor gaskets are 1.9mm

I thought everybody had already told you that it was the same gasket

As for asking why the headset is cheaper, that's a reason for them to up the price for sure..

there are two types of corteco gasket, the thicker one has a graphite coating on it. but its about twice as expensive as the normal one. the part number is the same but ends in an 'R' instead of a P?

but still the blue meillor that comes with the kit or on its todd is 1.9mm. 1.4mm sounds more like the n/a gasket I used to run, or was that 1.2mm ? god knows.

Ask yourself this - Does it really matter if they do supply a 1.4mm gasket anyway? I'm guessing you're not running high c/r, nor running crazy boost levels, nor running heavily advanced ignition, so you'll be fine even with that thickness gasket in situ.

Except for the fact, that is, that they'll be supplying you a 1.9mm gasket...
