Yes you need it or you'll be forever swopping ends every time you brake.

This...:agree: the compensator is there for a reason, don't scrape the pennies when it comes to brakes

Then what dos it do ?
It adjusts the pressure (bias) of the rear brakes depending on load/weight. Too much rear braking and you will have skidmarks in your boxers under hard braking;)

Thanks for that I haven't got one of those fitted either.:sad2: That why I managed to turn it round 180degrees under hard braking, thought it was the rear dampers which I changed promptly, seems to have solved the problem.
Although as you say it does throw the weight suddenly to the opposite side braking hard into a very sharp bend.:scared:

All depends, on some tracks and in some conditions having a slippery rear end might help;)
Personally I would fit one:agree: you can adjust the bias anyway should you ever feel the need to. ;)

I used a genuine one at over £130 if I remember correctly, there was a thread on here a while back where they were considerably cheaper. £40 or something like that.

You can buy aftermarket rally type ones from Demom tweeks, but will cost a lot more. :)
