Gents Can anyone tell me what paint system was used for my PH2 Tungy at production?

I didnt think clear over base were in use back in 88?

Has been suggested it could be "autolaque" which is like the clear is part of the paint make up or something?

Anyone shed any light as it probs be redone in c/b anyways but itd be nice to get as close a match as per period :agree:

Many thanks :)

It's done in base coat then clear coat.
The base coat back then was made up from solvents etc.. where as today it's water base, you still can get solvent though just not as easy now.

There were 4 different shades of the Renault Tungsten Grey 608 paint code on the colour chips my painter got from the paint supplier. A lighter grey one, bluey grey, greeny grey and a darker grey one...

I think the blue/grey and darker grey were the best of those.

I went for the lighter one then poured a load of extra silver in  might find out what it looks like if the painter ever paints the car.......
