Hopefully someone might have an idea what this could be :)

Had this problem last week but managed to get it started in the end after taking the carb lobster off.

Now it won't seem to start again. Have tried the same thing but no good.

Took fuel pipe off carb and fuel is flowing out of line.
Have taken spark plug out and put it to body and seem to be getting a spark.

The plug I took out did smell strong of fuel though so makes me think it's over fueling maybe.

Wasn't even trying to fire, just turning over.

Just took the carb off as thought I'll give it a good check over and maybe even rebuild it.
Glad I did as noticed there was a small washer inside it, was stuck hard into the butterfly lol.

Anyone know what it could be?

Do you use a choke?

Have you tried foot flat to the floor to let as much air in as possible incase it's flooded?

Hmmmm, they can be bloody awkward to start after a lay up.

When you look down the carb with the lobster off try taking the little brass tube out (carb top off first) and blowing through it to see if it's blocked. Then if it seems ok give it a good blast with carb/brake cleaner aswell as down the hole where said tube sits. If the carbs getting fuel and the plugs are sparking then it's definitely fuel/carb related.

I've whipped the carb off tonight so will give it a good clean up with carb cleaner. I've done head gasket on it recently and got it fully warmed up the other day, coolant circulated etc. but then wouldn't run the next time I tried to start it.

Can you see fuel flowing out the tube in the carb? idle jet or any of the other jets blocked? Or maybe is the spark your getting a good enough spark?

Is it catching (igniting) at all during start? I'd try giving it a push start, as this may help diagnosis?

Its not trying to start at all.
Not moved the car to be honest as its round back of my house and not a good road to bump start lol.

Found my problem. Spark plugs, 3000km done since new and they are trash. Had NGK iridum and was advice not to use them on carb cars... Put some cheap champion in and it started first time.

Spark looked ok... I would never guess it was the sparks.
