New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Little bit verbal introduction at first and pictures soon after.

I bought my R11 Turbo at this summer, I tested it only 500 meters and that's it. Car was in terrible condition (later I found that it was good that I didn't drove more before rebuilding engine).

Original idea was to keep it original. Then I started to look for engine components and then I got ideas from other mods. Now car is almost ready to be painted. Mods are minor and more likely details.

My goal is to get 220-230 bhp from that engine, hopefully I will get to there :D .

I have rebuild whole car....still I am missing few parts, but I try to find those parts from here.

I will post pictures today.

My estimation is that I have used about 4000-5000€ to my car at the moment (I didn't buy bodykit, big wheels and so on...so I used money more "wisely" to achive goal that I am trying to achieve and it is beat BMW M3 and some Audis at 1/4 mile :smokin::D )

The carberrettor is a twin choke item TTS use to sell years ago.

Then I have...

285 Pipercam, adjustable pulley vernier, front mount IC, oil cooler, new hoses (some still missing, but most are steel reinforced), Renix 209 ECU, 7bar fuel pump, 8mm spark leads, new R11 Turbo Sparkplugs, Group A exhaust system, special made exhaust manifold (soon you have possibility to buy those, it fits to R11 Turbo, R5 Turbo and R5 GTT). Turbo is T25.

Then I have Renault 19 16V front discs and brake cylinders, and some other parts from R19 16V for cooling for example radiator fan .

Cylinderhead is from Twingo (bigger valves, but all other things are same).

Exhaust manifold should be ready within month...finnish race car driver is building that..cost will be about 500€...or something like that. It is made from good materials and is totally hand made. I helped guy to develop it. It should increase power from C1J engine...you'll see ;)

Thanks. I will post more pictures soon. I have done a lot of welding etc... :)

Sound system will be following:

Some kind of CD-player where are iPod support / control

I have hifonics 6,5" component speakers (mid bass and tweeters)

Autotek amplifier

Two times Pioneer TS-WX11A subwoofers (my intention is to place those to "backdoor" panels.

This system weights about 8 kilos, so it should pretty light weight that I won't lose too much from 1/4 mile time or 0-100km/h time. :)

Here are some pictures from bumbers....I am trying to modify only little bit :)

Theros
13-01-2009, 18:28
Then I changed back part of my project... originally it was ph1, but some of earlier owners changed front part of car so I decided to continue and I changed last part :)

Theros
13-01-2009, 18:31
Car was also in horrible condition...some rust too :uhhuh:

Theros
13-01-2009, 18:36
Left side of car was in terrible condition...some earlier owner used glass fiber etc. to "fix" problems, but no...I took all glass fiber away (there were almost 3 cm thick layer of glass fiber) then I used hammer and little bit glass fiber to fix problems...

Theros
13-01-2009, 18:37
Other side, which was very rusty, is now welded too... :)

Theros
13-01-2009, 18:37
Then I cleaned car little bit and I used acid based paint to prevent rust in future :)

Today I took my wheels to powder coating...shiny black will be as basic colour :) ...

Friend of mine sandblasted wheels before coating. In the picture wheels are in "original condition".

Wheels are from Renault 21 GTX. Wheels are suitable (IMO) to older project cars and those are pretty light weight :) .

I am very happy now...lucky I would say :)...maybe lucky *******.

Today I bought original Zender bodykit to R11/R11 Turbo. It is in good condition. Seller kept that bodykit in shelf since 1992, until today he called for me and offered it  . Price was "reasonable" so I decided to buy it.

I am going to make moulds from that bodykit (includes sideskirts, front bumper splitter, rear bumper splitter and parts that cover partially side of shell. If here are peopl who are interested about glassfiber replicas, then I will sell copies for reasonable prices. In every case I will create moulds that I can keep original parts in my carage :D ...

I have to check. I will come with information as soon as possible. It is twin choke 32mm Weber, but I don't remember model. I will check all the information as soon as possible.

We have drag race day at 2.5.2009, so I will test 1/4 mile there with trusted devices. Also I will go to measure power from engine when my car is finished...I think that at the begining of march or so...

Time to update project again.

I received board computer to my car. I don't know if there are wires (hopefully there are), because in this model there are no board computer usually. If anyone knows if there are cables ready somewhere let me know...or let me know what I need to buy and where to get board computer to work.

We sprayed undercoat and at sunday we are going to to spray interior. At next weekend we spray rest of the cell :) ...I will post pictures at sunday :)

I received Zender kit, but it is in bad shape. I have to fix it and unfortunately I have to modify it little bit. I have to use glassfiber to cover places of side "styling" strips (similar to bumper "styling" strips).

Interesting, aren't the valves weaker in the twingo? would they be ok with a turbo chucking 20psi at them

We have tested it. It lasts up to 25 psi.

When using Twingos head you have to use little bit thicker headgasket...

Time update after long time...I will post pictures later today.

Painting was not good...and we have re-spray almost whole car. That costs...hmmm... couple of hundred of euros. :(

Interior is almost ready. Seats etc are there and only some electrical things need to be done. Still couple of hours to do.

Engine is now ready. I replaced camshaft with new one (285), there is now adjustable vernier pulley and valve springs are also better suitable with current camshaft :smokin: :wasntme:.

I changed old (repainted) wheels to "new" 15" wheels (will be repainted at next week), but I have to use 10 millimeter spacers ;) .

Ok...time to update. There have been done a lot of work with the car. We sanded whole car again...finished rest of the parts, exhaust manifold is now modified, because first version was not suitable to engine bay.

I took wheels to powder coating and those are ready now.
