I have 285 4 pots in the front. Car is lowered 50mm in the front and about the same at the rear. Under a bit harder braking (from 130 km/h ->) at about 60 km/h, rear of the car starts to have floating effect. I have a feeling that complete back of the car is weights 30 kilos. I need to correct my braking path by turning steering wheel to the sides and "calm down" the rear. So, is it problem in too big braking power of 4 pots or braking distributor for the rear is completely messed up? Is there any braking upgrade, something like universal braking distributor where you can setup percentage front/rear?

Cheers

Something like this would help?

Do you not have the standard rear bias valve fitted anymore?

Yes I have, but not sure about the condition. It worked fine before I installed 4 pots and lowered the car.

It probably needs adjusting, if not you can buy a new one. I got mine from Eurocarparts about 2 weeks ago for approx £110.00

OK. Will check since it was off the car for some time. So Ashy, standard one can cope with 4 pots without problems?

Thanks for the fast reply :agree:

The standard brake bias valve can cope with 4pots no probelm it just needs adjusting all the way up (towards the floor of the car), thats what mine is set too and i have got 4pots

when you lower the car the brake valve thinks you have a boot full of mother-in-laws and will increase the rear braking. You must adjust the rod when you lower the car.

You make a damn good piont andy but you are obsessed with mother in laws...:agree::laugh:

Ashy, no. Standard calipers at the rear for the moment. I have plan for fitting something stronger. Shall I go for 2 or 4 pots?

Thanks guys, after work I'm going under the car :cartman:

p.s. Luckily still don't have anything near mother in law :)

you dont really need to upgrade the rears unless your car suddenly gets fat lol

rear is becoming light because the brakes are too strong, you need to give them less pressure as its unsettling the car, upgrading the rear will put you back to floaty rear!

i've got same fronts as you, and just std rears, with std pads... brakes are brilliant now i've adjusted the brake bias valve
