View Full Version : New Member Looking For A 5 Turbo

Hi all. Looking for a bit of help. Been trawling Ebay, Gumtree etc for a 5 Turbo for some time now but getting nowhere fast. Been wanting one for bloody years now,think my brothers 9 turbo back in the day may have been the catalyst. I'm far from a mechanic and keep talking myself out of travelling hundreds of Miles to view a car that's a wreck, or even worse buy it and get shafted with engine issues. Im fully aware these are 20 + years old and some issues come with the territory. I'm 33,no kids (yet) have a garage for storage, money burning a hole in my account and am looking to purchase. If you are currently selling by all means post a link on here, or maybe point me in the right direction. Got texting a chap only last night who had sadly sold his 5 on here, he said its the only place to be sure that what your getting is logit and I quote him...... " I WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST WITHOUT THEM " Thanks in advance.

Yea a GT Turbo. Was looking for a phase 2, in particular a Raider which is Merely due to the colour really but it isn't the end of the world. With my lack of mechanical know how was looking for something sound. Do you have pics ?

Raiders are nicer though, and better than common muck tungy 5 :cooter:

Yes I tried to take pics of all the car so can be seen. Not full history but a lot of it can be found in the folder I have. I knew the previous of this car who we purchased off as he was going off travelling. The engine had a rattle and items was missing a scruffy. We then basically took the engine bay apart, and replacing with all the items you see including rebuilt engine plus a lot of new items (rad, wiring loom, hoses, alternator, carb rebuild, clutch, clutch cable, clutch pedal) plus more. It had to have some welding done on the jacking point to go through the MOT. We also replaced the dash and wiring loom due to it was hacked up, now there are no holes in the dash. Changed to original seats front and back. There is lots more about the car and more than welcome to chat on the phone about it.
As for price looking at £2k with no offers.

I know, will shove on eBay soon. One reason why I put no offers on the car. Need it gone before I move into my new place else will be like a car park round there when I move in, nothing quite like upsetting the neighbours straight away with Renault 5s :laugh:
Bloody good price that. You don't get much for 2k now a days apart from rust buckets that don't run :)
Forgot that its got Koni suspension all round as well.

3 Renault 5s, that's just greedy. Oh yeah that's what I own at the moment :ashamed:
