I have just recently taken ownership of a 197 exhaust cam. I have noticed that the oil feed holes are small compared to the 182. Not sure what issues this may give when running in a 225/182 head?

smaller holes generally means higher oil pressure. = more squirt...

never a bad thing to have lube flying all over the place...

Cheers Paul. Its the volume of oil that concerns me. Its strange why there is a difference between the 182 and 197 essentially the same head.

Only the exhaust cam?

197 cams are used more and more in 172's and 182's so don't think it'ed be a problem

The inlet ports are bigger on the 197 , the engine was slightly higher comp , but the head slightly lower than the 182 head. Wonder if this is why ? From what I understand the cams are slightly wilder than the 182 ones.

Could just be an evolutionary thing ? Renault are not know for standing still on part replacement / upgrades ..
