The CM have discussed the recent events which led to three members being placed into the "restricted user" group which removes access to certain areas of the club. There were a number of reasons why the committee felt it necessary to do this, the main ones are as follows:

1) A thread from the committee's private boards is accessed through whatever means and shared with club members.

2) it's made public that "the RTOC alternative is already being discussed behind closed/locked/bolted doors...."

3) the RTOF is launched by Adey aka Ewok.

4) Mart HARD deletes the sangliers event thread from the RTOC forum, which is under the instruction of Steve Thompson and re-posts it on the RTOF. No consideration is given to members who might be going but not want to be on RTOF.

5) PM's then go out from Steve to members saying please join the RTOF for updates on the Sangliers event. The CM's have no way of knowing how many members this has gone out too.

6) one of the members of the RTOF contacts one of the main authors of the articles to ask his permission to use this information and host it on the RTOF boards.

This all happens within a period of hours, not days or weeks. Alongside that unnecessary abuse is being directed towards the committee with regard to not being as dynamic or proactive as they should be, the club going backwards etc... usual stuff.

Based upon the above facts the committee have now decided how to move forward with the members involved.

Adey aka Ewok - setting up the RTOF was not done maliciously and no IP was taken from the RTOC - Decision - Fully reinstate his membership.

Mart & Steve - putting all the other issues to one side the committee need to understand how access was gained to the private boards. Restricted access will remain in place until either member provides an explanation. If this information hasn't been supplied by midnight on the 8th of February the Committee will assume that by not helping to resolve the issue they are guilty by association and both members will receive a 6 month ban. The Committee would really rather not have to do this to 2 long term members and if this information is provided prior to the deadline their membership will be fully reinstated. The committee shouldn't have to worry about private statements being made public.

As a result of these events the club rules will be reviewed and amended accordingly.

Regards the committee.
