How to check mileage?

Is there anyway to check the mileage of a car? Bought mine in October with 9500 miles on which can't be right. Anyway of getting previous mot records ?

check the gov website, you can enter your numbers from the v5 to check im sure.;)

Check the mot certificates if you have any

It only shows me the last mot which is bloody wrong aswell as it says 877 miles. I've not got mot certs with it

Bigfoot that's what I went on but it only shows my current mot cert which shows my mileage as 877 I could do with the previous mot records

You can go to any mot place and they can the last 5 at least

I went on that the gov site for mots and it came up about last 5-6.. 2006 when it was last on road before i bought it in 2009 it had 112k now its got 89k with the clocks iv got as had no interior lol

I think mine was stood 10 years before I bought it so not sure if it was the old handwritten ones

That will be why they are not showing on line then. Their website only shows MOT`s & mileages since about 2006 when the garages moved onto the online system.

Only way to check would be to look at the old MOT certs if you had them, other than that there wont be any records, unless you have some sort of service book/history/receipts with the car.
