Hi there any irish 5 owners out there im in Donegal

i dont think your find out any at all over there one or 2 but that's it,i know there was a guy when I was on a French car site over in Ireland,he had a few and even a gta v6 I think, but he was down cork so very far from you.
having French car esp a 5 over there imo is pointless, just check out the postage that's bad enough to start with.no gsf or euro car parts so your screwed before I moved there but now back here I sold my 5 because it just was pointless owning one over there, some ppl never even known what a 5 was,let alone a Renault, plus I never mentioned the road tax and vrt :coffee::sad2:

Euro car parts is there but I only buy from mike gt turbo spares there's no vrt to pay on cars from the uk if you can prove you owned the car longer that 12months in the uk,You car buy road tax 3 months at a time and when cars are 30years old car tax is free.there's 5 turbos about I know 3 in my home town and that's a small town.true do they all drive hondas and subarus around Ireland, all there into is jap crap and know nothing about fast renaults but every time I meet a jap car in Ireland the look on the faces is priceless when the Renault leaves them like a sitting duck.so pointless having a Renault in Ireland I don't thing so it's to much fun:burnrubber::burnrubber:

I live in Meath. Don't see many old classics here, but there is a very nice Lancia delta evo I see regularly.

thb I think with the vrt they area bit half arsed in what they need to do I found but was happy enough to take my 600 or so euros off me asked nothing about certain things they asked for, never even asked how long I owned the car, the tax is ok on a 3 month time but still for a 1.4 it was I think 350 euros a time and then when I taken my seat leon cupra it was 654 for the yr, its still a lot mate:sad2:
for the ppl over there I cant knock them but for the government I wont even start.
I was to the west of Ireland over galway but was in tuam,20 miles from the main town and that road some times can be death traps (n17 I think it was)
one day I remember a car overtaking a car and then being over taken buy another car couldn't belive it :eek:
there could be massive changes that could be made over there but the gov are just set in there ways driving the country into the mud:crap:

Its getting work done to put it back on the road at the minute have'nt driven it in three years or more. So its going out this year, waited long enough.

Was looking through some old threads, did you ever manage to get some standard size tyres?

I could do with two uniroyals.

turbo ted
19-07-2015, 10:52
Could only get hold of two uniroyals from the uk, semperit do tyres in the right size 195/55r13 can be got in Dublin ask robxr1 where to get them as he has them on his extra van

robx1r
20-07-2015, 02:59
discount tires in blanchardstown should be able to get semperits, i got the uni's off camskill,

Hey guys
I am in Banbridge Co.Down.
I still have my 2 but just cant get much time to enjoy them :ashamed:
Family duties come first I am afraid..... but I get the odd run out..
Still have to meet up with Charlie but just haven't had a chance yet..
There are a few more 5's about as a few guys have chatted to me in filling stations etc. when I have had the car out saying they know where there are one's in storage or being worked on...
