I have been to look at a Renault 5 gt turbo tonight. And I have decided I want it, BUT it's slightly out of my price range!

It's got a few bits on it that I don't want so I could possibly offset the cost by selling these.

I just need a ballpark figure of what these parts fetch if possible please

- new bailey dump valve

- a set of black 15 inch turbines with pretty much new tyres. All centre caps and locking key

- black new samco boost hoses

- breadbin brand new alloy intercooler

If I get it,god knows that I am going to do with the 5 in my garage at the moment lol..

Turbines- depends on condition really mate. With new tyres between 250-350 I reckon.

New samcos- I've just bought a set today (sods law) £250- £300

inter cooler- approx £50 I reckon.

Ive sold turbines, my mate sold Samcos last week & an inter cooler. That's what he got for it all. But it really depends on the condition of the wheels :)

Hope it helps pal.

All of the above + best cooling standard position intercooler.
They're becoming more popular because people dont want to chop about their car for a fmic.

I didn't know that! Gt tuning chrome seems pretty sought after too.

Apart from the Bosch dump valves lol.

If you do get around to arranging a local meet then I would like to see it. Along with your good self of course, I have been a member of the club for quite a few years but I have actually only meet a handful of people...

I have been a member on here for about 15 years and I think I have met about 5 people from here lol. So fear not!!! :p

Hopefully with a few local meets with us and the Essex boys, we can change this eh :D

Glad to hear you would like to meet my wonderful self and not just my 5 :cooter:

It as a big fat no. I have offered him his full asking price now.

I sort of get the feeling he wants to keep it now as I haven't heard anything back....

Rob1980
16-01-2014, 18:07
That's probably the case mate. To be honest, offering only £125 below the asking price is never normally going to be turned down. Unless of course you are talking about only £500 then £125 is a massive drop.

Still no news is good news as they say...

The car is £3k plus so £125 seems peanuts. I took £500 less when I sold my TT roadster and I jumped at that!lol..

He said he needed that car gone by Saturday as he was getting a new one arriving, so it seems strange to me that he isnt replying but hey ho! As mentioned, I think he wants to keep it now....:( which wasted my time a little....:disagree:

Just playing the game mate by the sounds of it. Even if he changes his mind I'd tell him to do one, just for being a time waster.

I prob last drove one in 2006!! It was a great drive home. Really enjoyed it!!!

It's wrapped up under a car cover on the drive at the moment as we are out this evening. Will try to get some pics up tomorrow.

It has a few little niggles but nothing major. The guy I bought it from would t take it out if the conditions were wet let alone raining. Which is a good thing as the bodywork is in very good condition!

Have to sort out a meet now I guess eh!!

Who is coming????? :)

I didn't get time to sort some pics- it's Sod's law that the weekend I buy a 5, it's a real busy weekend! Not even had chance to do much with it apart from cover it up :crap:

As for 100% - the bumper strips are colour coded....

The rear interior cards have the material coming away from the actual card

The side decals are reproduction ones of a poor quality. Luckily I bought two sets on the group buy on here :D

It has the turbines on it so needs the speedlines putting on.

It's a bit too bling under the engine bay for my liking but its very very clean

The side indicators are old and have water stains in them

The scorpion system is fine but the back box has a massive tailpipe on it

It has a grey interior carpet

The towing eye cover on the front bumper is missing

And that's about it really. Nothing too bad or problematic really :agree:

As for my other 5 restoration.....bizarrely it's given me more enthusiasm to get it finished. Although I am stuck as to what to do...make them both OE. My resto OE and this one with a few toys and a bit of poke.

Really not sure what route to take quite yet.:confused::confused::confused:
