A 6 hour round trip today to pick up this kit from a chap in Southampton. All the main, expensive parts are there to go low boost straight away. All that's required is another phase 1 Clio 172 fuel sender, air filter and pipework, supercharger belt, Megane bottom pulley then mapping.

Rotrex C30-94. Ktec racing supercharger kit,
Less than 6 thousand miles,
330hp@13psi (high boost)
231hp@6psi (low boost with boost restrictor)

Kit contains
Rotrex c30-94 supercharger
Oil reservoir with filter and Mocal 13row oil cooler
Supercharger fitted with 80mm pulley
Inter-cooler
All pipework/boost hoses and boost restrictor
Ktec Racing supercharger mounting bracket
Ph1 fuel rail with return line and fuel pressure regulator
Megane turbo injectors
Walbro 255 in tank fuel pump
Half a bottle of Rotrex traction oil

Nice one mate!

Let's you keep the Clio, still lots more power without spending silly money, eventually (or right away) swapping to different internals gives higher boost capability and the linearness of the charger saves gearboxes :agree:

Great! :)

Is that the same s/c that Adey had on his ph1? I seem to recall that being nice & nippy enough, whatever boost that was running.

As Arthur said, that should keep the gearbox happy for now :D

Imo go high boost straight away :D

yep same size charger, mine put down about 240 at 6/7psi and 280 at 9/10psi :agree: good buy makes the car really fun, power and torque climb all the way to the red line as the boost is rpm dependent, so the higher you rev the more power you make, very linear delivery. makes for an awesome track car

Everything seems to be falling into place, what with this kit coming up for sale and the purchase of a Renault Laguna 1.9 DCi for peanuts. This means the Clio can come off the road and the Laguna becomes the everyday smoker. I know I've been mulling over the ED turbo kit for weeks but when this supercharger kit came up for sale for the price I paid I saw it as the cheapest way to get the power and probably the easiest way in how it all pretty much bolts on.

Rough plans and maybe a project thread to suit:

Engine out, new cambelt kit and new clutch (undecided yet on upgrading the clutch side of things)

Powdercoat some parts, have the inlet manifolds matched, paint the block, tidy the engine bay.

Bolt the supercharger to the block, drop everything back in. Bolt the pipework etc on

Then have it mapped :)

Obviously plenty of jobs to do in between but you get the idea

This is what the kit is going on

jump on the rotrex site bud im sure you can get the manuals there, you have to be very careful when you first fill the system with regards to bleeding it

Will definitely be ready for Sangliers :agree: it was always my ambition and intention to be boosted for this years Sangliers, and now finally it will happen :)

He's kept it sealed, may need a top up but it hasn't been emptied regarding the supercharger, pipework and oil cooler

Just a thought, as I saw your other thread too, forged pistons tend to be the thing for upped boost due to the compression ratio drop, and rods for over 400bhp.
Surely the cheap way is to buy my decompression plate and go for high boost from the off? Head needs to be drilled and tapped to move the tensioner, or again buy my head to match and sell yours ;)

good going, best o luck buddy...:agree:

Ric I think this is going to be a beast and at a fraction of a turbo set up u were gonna go for!

:D

:D

Really looking forward to making a start on it, the plan is to have it look as OE as possible, like it was meant to be there when it rolled off the production line :ashamed: :D

So, things like the intercooler, pipework and silicon hoses will be in black. The silicon hoses are blue so they're being sold off.

I've been working out what I need and making a shopping list this evening

Really awesome mate!

Imo when the engine is out anyway fit some megane 225 pistons and maybe forged rods.
Matt Cole said he will have 225 pistons spare soon so PM him mate.

You'll never regret! As for clutch i would think a helix organic will hold the gradual climd of the charger.

I have forged rods and a helix clutch but sorry enough i haven't decided wether i'm going to use them or not

I can't say this enough but sooner or later you'll want to upgrade so please save yourself the hassle and do it good at once.

Just my 2 pennies!

I know exactly where your coming from Arthur, do it right do it once. get it over and done with and go large :D

Ok, so the theory is to fit Megane pistons and rods (Matt PM me :) )

You mention VVT and losing it, how easy?

Also, this is going to be mapped on the standard ECU not standalone so I don't know how far I can go regards changes

Tutuur
12-01-2014, 22:38
Well it should be perfectly fine on standard management apart from having no boost control.
That won't be a problem however since you're running a charger.

Afaik you'd have to source yourself a 2 bar map sensor, probably could get hold of one from a 225. (Or that's 2,5?) however you should ask the one mapping it as he has to rescale or have a rescaled map for it.

Yeah meggie pistons and rods could be fine too, aslong as you keep it under 300lb/ft but with the gradualy boost building charger i reckon that won't be a problem.

I'm sure turning vvt of could be done in the software but again you'll have to ask the mapper.

If you have more question i'd be more than happy to help out mate! I know you love the car in this color so this makes sense!
