they were made to fit the t2 exhaust housing, however i sent him my housing as it had a differnet stud pattern so he made me one up to suit.

Straight fit to 4 bolt T2 and T25. So, standard GTT turbo and most of the T25 upgrades including Tomcat and 200SX turbo.

Price was somewhere around 150-160 quids if I remember correctly.

Nice!

Where did you get that stainless manifold from if you dont mind me asking?

jure
11-01-2009, 22:14
No, not at all. I had some agreement with guy that works for Protoxide (www.protoxide.it) and got manifold for little better price :smokin:

ooeer just had a browse on protoxide. i havent seen these transparent dizzy caps (http://lnx.protoxide.it/shop/product_info.php?cPath=105&products_id=731) for years!! absolutely rediculess price though:sad2:

jure
12-01-2009, 06:50
Yeah. Protoxide is way too expensive. Wouldn't buy anything directly from them including my exhaust manifold...

I used to make the 2 1/2" downpipes Mike Spencer sold, I've still got the jigs, so if enough people want one I could knock a few up. No pics though.:sad2:

Might well be interested Jim if there a bit cheaper than others mentioned, cant justify over £100 on a pipe these days.

I'd be interested, will they be one piece and have a bung in them?

Sy5GTT
13-01-2009, 09:05
It can be done for under £100

What? Modify this or new one for GTT? I say that anything near BMS quality would be waaay more.

You cannot compare 200SX and GTT. There is a lot more this Nissans around and most of the owners buy it to modify it. Look at the price of shocks, springs, shortshifters, brakes, calipers...

Sy5GTT
13-01-2009, 09:42
Ok so the GTT would be slightly longer. I guess it depends on what its made of, how long it takes to make and where it's made that will see the price go up.

It was just a loose comparison. ;)

jure
13-01-2009, 09:50
I got you now. But I think that price is mostly determined on pieces made and on offer/demand bias. It is normal that 20 DP made only by Boris' hand cost more than 2000 made by machine or 30 workers in Japan, China or States. At my place I can have tuned Golf MKI, MKII and MKIII at same time, for same sum of money but I choose GTT

I bought the pipe work and turbo flange, measured and cut all the pipe work, local stainless company welded it up for me and made bottom flange and collar, both in stainless.

there is another thread called downpipe and it explains if there is enough interest boris may come out of retirement;)

Big Jim
13-01-2009, 22:37
It's all down to scale. If there's enough demand that you can get someone interested in bending the pipework in one piece and cnc-ing the flanges then £100 is do-able. If you're only making 10 or so then it's going to be more like £150, or it's just not worth doing.

Jim, would love to put my name down, its great your doing this but with how things are a price is needed, dont wanna put my name down and mess you about later as price is higher than expected and i cant afford it.

Hi,

hope this is the right thread.
I'm thinking of buying a one piece down pipe.
I have seen in the club shop that Big Jim downpipe is available.
Does it worth channging the original for such a pipe?
What is the diameter of this downpipe?

Thank you all your help!

Ian S
24-10-2009, 22:23
I think the diameter is 2 1/2 inches OD. Wider at the upper flange.

Thanks mate!

Than the rest of standard exhaust won't fit, will it? The pipes are std. till the back box.
So that should be the beginning of a new exhaust system. :D
What are you guys recommend?
